MAB Posted May 30 Posted May 30 I used to collect monochrome figures and much of the fun there was actually the hunt for parts, the joy of seeing a new figure with a missing colour hands or arms, rather than the displaying of them. But that was killed by LEGO doing Everyone is Awesome as it sort of took monochromes away from being a fan creation into the mainstream where you buy complete figures to display, and partly due to the nightshift parts when large quantities of previously hard to find parts were made available. I feel the same about the way Classic Space figures are going. When they are pumping out yet another colour to add to the rainbow of minifigures on display so many people seem to have, it feels like it has become a "buy the whole collection" type collectable rather than introducing a new colour to define a new role in a building set. Looks to me like the inconsistencies with the ‘brick suits’ (re hands and some coloured legs) are heading that way for something folk have been encouraged to collect too. Add to that the inconsistency with how the BAM figures are made available by stores … and 🤪 I like to think that intrepid heroes inside Lego are sneaking us new Space minifigs however they can, piecemeal if necessary, to slip them past the TLG bigwigs who hate Space. Similar things have happened before. Quote
rebelpilot Posted June 2 Posted June 2 It's probably time to post an image on the June BAM here since they're available in stores now, I have them already. Taken from jaysbrickblog because they're arranged in the "correct" suggest build. The unique parts are: Izzie's torso Izzie's skirt is new in coral Logan's torn shirt torso Logan's tail is new in dark azure Bright light blue classic space torso I think the eye print on Z-Blob's head is new, the slime isn't Z-Blob wrestler torso Reddish orange pirate torso From what I can tell the denim vest torso is just this printed torso with bare yellow arms and black hands so it can be classified as new unless it's been in a recent City release I haven't seen yet. Also Logan's dual moulded legs surprisingly haven't yet been released on PAB yet, so at least it's a way to source them. Quote
hikouki Posted June 2 Posted June 2 I don't mind more Dreamzzz themed BAM, as long as it gives us unique and much-needed parts. But this theme is ending soon, isn't it? I'm also wondering why they haven't given Monkie Kid the same treatment as its end has been announced. Quote

Accio Lego Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Halloween BAM figures have leaked: Mummy (costume?) with bandage head covering and Black Cat accessory Witch girl featuring the witch hat and hat that’s only appeared in Hocus Pocus and D&D licensed sets before, plus a purple shirt with bats and a matching printed skirt piece. Ghost woman in a nightgown with white splat piece printed with a ghost face as an accessory Definitely a good selection of parts for those who like spooky or just general magic and witchcraft. Quote
Robert8 Posted August 8 Posted August 8 Mummy looks odd with the middle of the legs being plain yellow.... looks like he's flashing us And what is that white piece the ghost lady is holding.... looks like a condom Quote

Which isn't to say they don't still look awkward. I like the melty ghost, though. And it's nice that the black cat is coming back. Quote

I have little interest in Halloween, but the parts are great and the cat fantastic to get there. A step up from a lot of the later BAM releasees Can we expect this in stores in the end of September (when I am close to a Lego store)? Quote
rebelpilot Posted August 11 Posted August 11 July BAM figures Not much new here other than the wetsuit torso, printed surfboard and dark blue/yellow dual moulded legs. The Encanto and Wicked hair and the pineapple printed torso are reused parts along with all the heads, double bass and peach. The witch hat/hair combo is not the same one from the Hocus Pocus set because it's missing the printing on the band and appears to be orange and not dark orange. But it's good to get the previously 'licensed' black cat from the same set. I thought the ghost lady's head might be a reuse from one of the Harry Potter Hogwarts ghosts but it looks like I'm wrong on that. It does look familiar. Quote

Great that the black can finally will be easier to get, at least if you are close to a Lego store hope they are in stock in the end of September Quote

RichardGoring Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I went to my local LEGO store yesterday and got the Halloween figures, along with a few black cats. This latest batch don't hold that much appeal. Anything new feels like it's a rework of something they've done in the last few years. Quote

I'll still likely get one of each though, just for the variety. Quote
