Sandvik TH550 is a 50 ton underground truck built for tough working conditions.

It took me two months to build its model, and I'm quite pleased with the result.

From the mechanical side it's not complicated, single PF M for steering and single XL motor for drive (4x4). Tipper is raised by four old type red pneumatic cylinders, fed from manual pump hidden behind the side radiator. I wanted to make it fully IR operated, but unfortunately Linear Actuators were to weak to raise the tipper. Anyway, it works good in current configuration.

Wow! I did'nt realize how big the whole "sandvik collection" was until I zoomed in on the pics to check the tire's size... I was expecting 81.6 but they are actually 94.8mm!!!! These things are HUGE and beautiful!

You have a nice fleet of 3 red Sandviks! :thumbup: What additional Sandvik are you thinking about building next? Would you consider the yellow brute shown below?

As soon as I saw pictures of the truck I knew its from M_longer! Your build style is really unique and the end result looks and functions great!

I'm glad that you all like it and don't complain because it's another reeeed underground machine :D

Yes, I'm thinking about building hard rock miner, The MH620.
