Zerobricks Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 (edited) With last two motors and last of my bricks remaining I decided to build my first snow groomer. Tracks are double width for maximum floatation on snow. To raise, lower and tilt the plow and the grommer at the back there are four pneumatic cylinders, operated by four valves in the cab. Because there was no room for big pumps, I hid two small pumps under roof, so they can be pumped by pressing on roof. A spring provides opposite motion on roof. To round things up there are PF lights in front and a reversing old style 9V light with a sirene in the back. Plow adjusted to clear snow in both side directions: And in only left side: Rear groomer thingy clears the track profile: Reversing light with sirene: In this picture you can see the massive tracks area, which helps the model drive even in very low dence snow. GuiliuG Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Again a great MOC ! You don't stop to publish new creations ! How many hours did you build a week? Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 4, 2010 Author Posted December 4, 2010 This one took some 6 hours in 2 days. The trickiest parts were the tracks, because to keep them tight the distance between furthest wheels had to be in odd stud number (had to usee 5,5 axles). Quote
DLuders Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 There's a lot of snow there in Slovenia! Maybe can bring you more motors and bricks for your wonderful creations! Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 As I wrote on YT, another great model from a great builder... Quote
buddy Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 A great snow groomer! It looks realistic and is very functional. Well done. ~buddy~ Quote
grohl Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 I really like the way how you made the tracks. Quote
Zerobricks Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Here are 2 more pictures of track details Grohl: You can see there are a lot of pulley wheels in order to spread weight as even as possible. Quote
grohl Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Thank you for the pictures. Looks a bit tricky but the only thing that matters is if it works. And it definitely does. Quote
apemax Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 great work on the tracks as well as the plow. well done. Quote
