DLuders Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) Conchas has just posted details about the TechnicBRICKS "TechReverse Challenge"! "In collaboration with the LEGO Technic product line, we decided to bring one of the 1H2011 models into contest. As you are probably already guessing, the challenge will consist in reverse-build one of the new small models. The model to choose should not include any new element, out of the element assortment available in 2010 (new colors for already existing elements may however apply). So the set selection for the current TechREVERSE Challenge issue is the 8066 (SUV). Challenge Goal: •Reverse engineer and reproduce into a LDraw file format, the Challenge proposed model. •The reproduction should be exact (model complete assembly, parts color and parts list)." Deadline is Tuesday, December 7th, 2400 hrs. Central European Time (CET). Be sure to read all the details! Edited November 23, 2010 by DLuders Quote

DLuders Posted November 25, 2010 Author Posted November 25, 2010 Since Blakbird provided a link to his render of the 1H2011 Lego Technic Mini SUV as a comment on TechnicBRICKS, here it the render. It looks like a fun little vehicle! Blakbird's renders look as good as the ones coming from TLG. Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 This is unfair...I made my version and sent it only to have a better picture now, where you can see UNDERSIDE IN REFLECTION... Should just post my LDD file... Quote
jojoguy10 Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 Now if only he could've shown the gearing :-/ Quote

It looks like a fun little vehicle! Blakbird's renders look as good as the ones coming from TLG. Actually, that's not the same link I provided on TechnicBricks. The file I linked to did not have a reflection: This is unfair...I made my version and sent it only to have a better picture now, where you can see UNDERSIDE IN REFLECTION... Should just post my LDD file... I made my model using the same picture you did, so there is no way to know whether or not my model is correct. Quote
allanp Posted November 28, 2010 Posted November 28, 2010 (edited) I can see one piece missing, there maybe more (Blakbird also confirms via TBs there are some faults) so fear not folks, he has not won it just yet althouhg it's still a freaking amazing render, i'm always really impressed by his renders! Still trying to figure out how to get ldd files to render in truespace Edited November 28, 2010 by allanp Quote
