CMP Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Sorry, decent brick-built trees take a lot of pieces to make, and I didn't think anyone would like to us eup their entire turn putting them there. Quote
ADHO15 Posted November 8, 2010 Author Posted November 8, 2010 It seems I have to reiterate this rule again so you all get it: Please use only parts and colours that are available in real bricks! Quote
XimenaPaulina Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Lookin' good so far! It's actually interesting to see how members of varying building skills can work together to create something out of scratch. So I don't really mind seeing <insert that tiresome argument> wall pieces or intricate modular building techniques or single tree pieces, etc. At the end of the day, this should be a fun build where every participant can say: "Hey, I contributed to that creation, even in my own little way." Agreed. But I'll still be doing SNOT walls on my turn. Quote
prateek Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Agreed. But I'll still be doing SNOT walls on my turn. Me too. Expect to see a full frontage makeover from my turn. The hard thing would be not being able to touch anything previously laid down. Quote
private_lego Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 The last builders will have to be very creative. After 7 steps, we have already 2 complete floors. We can't add another 3 floors. Snot building from the top down will be the challenge. Quote

It just wastes everyone's time. Quote
Superkalle Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Aha....interesting. After the first curious and friendly phase (aka "wow, a community build"), we're are moving into the next phase - (aka "dont mess with my stuff") Soon we'll be going into the next phase (which I have not clue whatseover what that may be) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Just to clarify, covering up other member's work would fit the rules, right? Quote
Superkalle Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Just to clarify, covering up other member's work would fit the rules, right? Ha, ha....that was exactly what I was thinking too Quote

Yeah, the last ones will have to do the creative 'finishing touches' I suppose, which can be a good or bad thing depending the way you look at it. Good because finishing touches don't require too much pieces/parts unlike the initial building steps, on the other hand it might be bad since you might 'ruin' an already great build. Quote

CorneliusMurdock Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Just to clarify, I was joking. I know part of building as a community is to accept that people may change the project without your influence. I am curious as to how sturdy such a facade will end up being. Quote

I just thought it was so funny. Sure, the rules said you couldn't change a previous builders stuff, but it didn't say anything about encapsulating it Quote

Brickdoctor Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Yes. Woohoo! Can I cover it up with leaves and horses and flames? Better yet, can I set the building on fire? Quote
prateek Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 BTW, I don't think this counts as a modular building since there is a huge bay window protruding out the side, colliding with any potential neighbours. Quote

Oh well. I could set the window on fire, if that helps? Then the neighboring house would also be on fire, so no one would be able to tell the window ever protruded into their space! Quote

I think your new title should be LDD pyromaniac Edited November 10, 2010 by prateek Quote
Randal Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Aw... I can't open the latest version in LDD anymore Quote
Brickdoctor Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I think your new title should be LDD pyromaniac I actually don't have a title- but I'm open to suggestions. By the way, if you're going to include the 'pyro' part, I should probably put some dynamite sticks in my rooms. That'll make a big fire! Quote
Zerobricks Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 Love the surveillance camera Thanks! Quote
Eskallon Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 (edited) Who put the large 3 windows on the 2nd floor front side NOT IN THE MIDDlE. I could have saved about 20 pieces if it wern't for you. Edited November 10, 2010 by Eskallon Quote

You know the drill- shall I set them on fire since you don't like them? KDM, since you're going after me, you'd better have some fire engines ready. Quote
