Lego Otaku Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 I was reading through The Brick Journal Compendium (issue 4-5 in one) and on page 214 there's an instruction for making rail crossing using 1x4 light bricks for flashing light and 2 motors for gate crossing, all controlled by RCX The only problem is it'd take 1 RCX per rail crossing, which could get a tad expensive for multiple crossing. Is there a creative auto rail crossing plan that is a bit cheaper than 1 RCX per crossing? Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 (edited) Use power functions! A train pushes a PF switch, which turn on motor to lift gates and also to jerk another switch which turn on/off lights. When train leaves the switch should go in reverse and reset whole thing. DLuders Posted September 27, 2010 Posted September 27, 2010 @ Lego Otaku: I'm looking at the same BrickJournal Compendium 2 Page 214 that you referenced. Below is a YouTube video by "esbenkolied". His Brickshelf gallery shows 17 pictures of the "Automatic rail road crossing including motion sensor, lights and sound. Using one micro motor and Mindstorms NXT": Quote
