Burf2000 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Hi all, has anyone managed to get this working? I know it works with xp and I seen somewhere someone hack it to use vista? but the same steps seem to not work on Windows 7 Quote
nico71 Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Hi, I have tried to install the RCX on a Seven 64b. It works but not the drivers of the hardware : the IRtower. So non communication between the ITtower and RCX. The problem comes from 64b windows, the driver is only compatible with 32b windows. So there are certainly the main problem with all old lego stuff. Maybe you can try to install this with a virtual machine ? Quote
Burf2000 Posted August 25, 2010 Author Posted August 25, 2010 I am referring to the web cam side of things, but good point check to see if I am running 32bit or 64 Quote
Burf2000 Posted August 31, 2010 Author Posted August 31, 2010 You tryed XP mode? Its the drivers, you just cant get them to talk to the camera Quote
CP5670 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Yes, virtualization is the best way to do this. Virtual PC and XP Mode run on the same core engine and either one should work. You can use drivers in there that don't work on the host OS. That camera is supposed to be pretty mediocre though, so it might not be worth the trouble. It would be easier to hook up a small, normal camera to your model. Quote
Burf2000 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 I know but I trying to be a purest :) Quote
