trucker Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Hello. I think August is a good time to build a nice 6x6 trial truck, don't you think? I always wanted to build one of those big 6x6 trucks from USA.. In 2008 I've built something similar, it was a Model Team rendition of 6x6 Goliath from a computer game named Insane (1nsane). But it was a static model - no Power Functions, no real 6x6 drive, and the suspension didn't work properly. Last week I found nicely made M35A2 trucks for Rigs of Rods simulation game, and that's the reason I built this truck. The truck features full 6x6 drive. The suspension is working and we've got a V6 fake enigne here and front and rear lights. The truck is powered by one PF XL, and the winch is powered by PF Medium. Some things need to be reinforced, but even the truck works fine. And of course we've got a video here: And that's the end. You can comment, if you want ;) Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Do you have any pictures of the axles? Maybe you canr educe gearing to make it faster? Quote

I don't have got any pictures so far, but I'm going to change some gears so the truck will be faster. It's only one PF XL, and the vehicle is a bit heavy.. ;) Quote
trucker Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 Do you use worm gear on diff combo? No, I don't use worm gears and differentials at all. The chassis is similar to this: Of course, front and rear suspension is a bit different, it is slightly shorter, but general idea is the same. Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Its a really nice looking truck, but it could use more power, and maybe remove one rear axle, to reduce weight? Quote
trucker Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 (edited) Its a really nice looking truck, but it could use more power, and maybe remove one rear axle, to reduce weight? No, it's not a good solution. I just like 6x6 trucks :P Edited August 24, 2010 by trucker Quote
Milan Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 I like the 6x6, too It could benefit from another XL, and from a little more speed! Quote
