Zerobricks Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I decided to build a fast, yet powerf ull trophy truck. To do so i used 2 RC motors with 1:2 gearing to 8297's wheels. To top it all of I added long travel suspension that allows the truck to go fast over rough terrain. To keep the truck light, the body is very simple. Steering angle is some 40 degrees, also the front suspension uses double links per hub for better strength. Rear is a simple solid axle pivoting on RC unit. Video: Quote
Jurgen Krooshoop Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Wow, this is very cool !! I like it's performance very much. Racing with self-made Lego-cars is really cool !! Quote
CP5670 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 (edited) This truck builds up some great speeds. I also like the vehicle-mounted camera in the video. The RC motors seem to be well suited for fast vehicles like this. They are slightly more powerful than XL motors already, and the difference between them increases if you gear up an XL motor to get the same speed, as the gears are not entirely efficient.
