DLuders Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Solic posted a nifty Liebherr LTR 1100 Mobile Crane MOC on his Brickshelf folder. There are detailed pics of: 1) The crane working to lift a power transmission tower ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=429977 ), 2) The Power Functions mechanics ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=429976 ), 3) The boom ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=429975 ), and 4) The Power Functions chassis ( http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=429973 ). Jurgen Krooshoop Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) Wow, impressive !! I especially like the tracks which can be extended & retracted. Edited May 5, 2010 by Jurgen Krooshoop Quote
Zerobricks Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 The retractable tracks are really a good detail, but i wonder how much they bend under weight. Very oroginal idea withe the boom rack, mounted sideways, but i ama bit worryed about those 2 LA's holding the entire weight at such low pivot point. Two serial LA's might be better in this case, but despite all these things, the crane still rules! Quote
dhc6twinotter Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Awesome! I really like the design of the boom. The yellow part of the boom is built very similar to how I'm planning to build the boom on one of my future projects. The black part of the boom is beautiful. Very nicely done. Quote
