Zerobricks Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) This is what i built for exhibition. It features 8 wheel drive, articulated steering, 2 LA's for dumping the load and a unique system for totaing wheel pairs. This systema llows the truck to increase its ground distance for rough terrain. I later refined axles for higher gear ratio. Video: Edited March 21, 2010 by Zblj Quote
DLuders Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Wow! Using 5 ea. swiveling Technic Turntables gives it more moves than Elvis! Are you going to use this in a "Trial Truck" setting outdoors? Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Nah, it will be driving on flat surface. Your comment is really funny :) Quote
ProducePrincess Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 I really love this. I've always wanted to build a lego RC car but i don't have the skill that you and others have. How complicated is it to start building one of these models? Is it a lot of shoot and miss trying to get everything working well? Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Not really... After you build as long as i have, things just somehow fit with no problems. It took me some 8 hours to build this mode. Quote
Symch Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 (edited) Wow! Its really cool. You know how fast it goes? Edited March 21, 2010 by Symch Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 After i changed the gear ratio in the wheels, the speed is now arround 30 cm/second. Quote
Milan Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Nice technical ideas! Lifting the wheels of the ground is cool! Quote
Tobbe Arnesson Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Cool! You might get a kick out of this photo (!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdfV6PQPk00#t=0m36s That's how pendelum arms work with leveling in forestry machines. Another photo here: http://www.eco-log.se/en/products/590D I could not find a good video of this, not that I tried that hard... Quote
Big Cam Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Wow, that is very confusing, looking at the undercarriage without a lot of technic knowledge. I am really impressed with the mobility it has, and I love the dual sets of wheels in the front, it makes it look very industrial. Quote
CP5670 Posted March 23, 2010 Posted March 23, 2010 This is a great design. The wheel bogie assemblies are very clever and would make a great basis for a hybrid Technic/Space creation. I like how your models are moderately sized but are full of interesting and unique functions, and this one is no exception. Quote
