snefroe Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 loooooooooooooool however, it may be moved to "community"? see TT? now that's humour... Quote
Norro Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 I would be holding something a little more substantial than a power-ranger sword when I confronted a guy with an axe like that...green hair or not. God Bless, Nathan Quote
xwingyoda Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL Yes indeed Sne, this is such a "nice" pic :-D Come on Toa, Vikings do not celebrate St Patrick's day :-D  Yoda Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 23, 2006 Governor Posted February 23, 2006 see TT? now that's humour... I don't get the gag! Is that poor mini-figure being discriminated against because he has outrageous bright green hair? Quote
The Hordesman Posted February 23, 2006 Posted February 23, 2006 I dont get it, atleast he doesnt have a useless ESA sword to fight with... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2006 Governor Posted March 15, 2006 Someone explain to us what's going on immediately! Quote
ApophisV Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 I'm pretty sure it's because he has no beard... *n* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2006 Governor Posted March 15, 2006 Does the dude in the middle have a beard? I can't tell. It looks like he might have a thin red beard but it also might be the lighting. Quote
ApophisV Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Don't think so. Manga Kids never have beards, at least I can't remember any. In those stories only the wise, 200 year old men, has loooong beards.... If Star Wars were japanese, Yoda surely had a beard too! *yoda* :-D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2006 Governor Posted March 15, 2006 Manga kids? Is that what that thing is? Jolly jumpin junipers that's just what LEGO needs! But I still don't get the joke... Quote
ApophisV Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Manga kids? Is that what that thing is? Jolly jumpin junipers that's just what LEGO needs! But I still don't get the joke... Ooooohhh... I'm beginning to understand I think.... Phes, have you ever heard of "Exo-Force"? You probably should start coming out of your Pirates forum and looking at all those wonderful things Lego gave us lately!!! ;-) :-P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2006 Governor Posted March 15, 2006 Yeah, I've seen the Exo Force sets but not their mini-figures. Is that where fluro green head originates from? But alas I don't share your optimism on these Exo Force sets, instead I whip out the 1994 LEGO Catalogue and turn to page 47 to admire 6889 Spyrius Mega Robot and 6949 Spyrius Mega Robot. AHHHHHH those were the days! :'-) PS. I still don't get the joke! Quote
Zane Posted March 15, 2006 Author Posted March 15, 2006 It's pretty simple. He's just out of place against all the other Vikings, that's all. Simplicity is fun. TT Quote
ApophisV Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 AHHHHHH those were the days! :'-) Those were the last days before I came into my dark ages.... :'-( Quote
SuvieD Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 Those were the last days before I came into my dark ages.... :'-( Spyrius guys are cheap now days. Much less than castle or star wars. I really wish LEGO would make a new space line. I just got a couple of the spyrius sets I was missing. Lovely little things. I really like the whole color scheme. I still wish Blacktron (the original) would make a comeback. Quote

I still wish Blacktron (the original) would make a comeback. i'd love a blacktron 1 comeback as well, Spyrius, to me, was the beginning of the end for space... after that we got those ufo things, insectoids or whatever,... nope, not good... however, you can do so much more now with a space theme, as many mocers show every day... in any case, you can't help but admire Phes' loyalty to pirates... or is lack of courage to let go of the old and look for something new.... like exo? :-P Quote
Calisto Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 (edited) I don't get the joke either! Edited March 15, 2006 by mister_phes Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2006 Governor Posted March 15, 2006 in any case, you can't help but admire Phes' loyalty to pirates... or is lack of courage to let go of the old and look for something new.... like exo? :-P Of course, it truly admirable and many lessons are to be learnt from it. However, you may note in my last post I was referring to Space sets so there's an interesting twist for you. But yes, they are old. And when The LEGO Company produces something this good once again then I'll happily let go of the old. But till then, I'm stickin with the good old stuff. Quote
Sir Dillon Posted March 15, 2006 Posted March 15, 2006 my last post I was referring to Space sets *Gasp!* Phes talked about something other then pirates! What is this world coming to?! :-P Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 15, 2006 Governor Posted March 15, 2006 Yes, Phes has been asking someone to explain this supposed joke which is clearly unpirate related but no one has managed to do so. No wonder Phes doesn't stray far from pirates... Pirates require no further explaination... Not like these complicated Vikings... Quote
john cleese Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 phes i agree with you i seem to be at a loss :-/ ? why is this funny? Maybe its because most of my humor is entirely random (i just havent shown it yet because it seems eurobricks cant appreciate a good old game of exploding bug rockets and floating dry leaf gondolas; where the only rule is dont get in the gondollas because theyll crumble up and they are extremely unstable, and the main guidline is Avoid blue things in shells that spike you when you pick them up. Like the rare cactus concealed in a shell with a dangrous mechanism which sends the cactus flying off in some random direction eventually coming in contact with an exploding rocket full of catterpillars. And though we may want to fear the ominous presence of exactly 324.7 ominous spiders hiding in giant multicolored old plado cubes, remminecsent of our child hood. I feel we must not, for we must act now before the spiders attack. So i implore you to light your giant plado cubes aflame and fill up your old Napolean Bonapartes Conquest, Ominous Spider Shootin Moon Boots with the remaining spider carcasess and attack your grandmothers chin as it too contains plado with spiders lurking inside.) Really i just dont find it all that funny. P.S. It would be more humorous if the vikings were about to attack some exo-force robots and the exo-force guy was in his regular clothes and they said he wasnt the right guy for the job. HEck it would be funnier if we knew whaat the job was... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 16, 2006 Governor Posted March 16, 2006 Humour is entirely subjective of course... But it would be great if Mr Tilius could explain further what's going to those who don't understand the joke without giving it away entirely... "He's just out of place against all the other Vikings, that's all." I assume that's a reference to the green hair mangaesque mini-figure. If so is this character auditioning to become a viking? If that be the case I think it needs a sign saying "Viking Auditions" or something to provide greater clarity upon what's going on. It needs some form of context for it to work for me. Quote
john cleese Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 i get the joke but it just seems kind of corny. I just wouldnt say its an LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL so much as it is an LOOOL. However it is certainly not an roflmao or an omg lol. However one could say it was a 'HAhaha or maybe just a light LOL or lol depending on which cas you find appropriate. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted March 16, 2006 Governor Posted March 16, 2006 If I got it sooner then I probably would have found some amusement in it, but weeks later its grown too old to be funnny. However... Probing deeper... In a way it could be foreseen as offensive. Is this implying he is unsuitable because he looks different? Isn't that discrimination? How hideous is political correctness?
