Evil Willy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I dont know if this is a set..But it was a store display, it is made of lego with the old old minifigs with BIG heads.... very cool, even the sails are made of legos :D Check it out now... Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Those aren't the "old" minifigs, they're old Duplo minifigs. That's most likely a MOC someone made for a store, and not a real set, but nice find anyway! To see what the "old" minifigs looked like, check the Bricksters topic about the wild west, I think there were some pictures in it of the real old ones (no arms, blank faces, non-moving legs, etc) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 4, 2006 Governor Posted January 4, 2006 It looks kinda scary... I think its the colours... Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 Mister phes! Check my post on making sails..I made my aft sail too! look in my ship :D Quote

In fact they are Figs - just not mini but pre-mini. LEGO introduced a line called HOMEMAKER and added these figs - later they became part of the "regular" LEGO and were discontinued after the MF was introduced. Don't blur that it's Duplo when it's not |-/ a link to an old catalogue holding the mentioned figs It'm might very well be a set from early 1970's or it may just be a model built by either a fan or the modelbuilding part of the LEGO Company. All of the above said with a smile :) EDIT: I even believe gylman's avatar to be one of these figs :D [singing: "OOOOOoolllldd maaaaan riiveeer"] KimT Quote
Khorne Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I prefer the minifig of nowadays over the older, er, what's it called actually? Anyway, I think this ship was an actual set, the txt in the folder says that there should be more pictures or possible instructions of this boat. A display of a 3 mast Pirate Ship.It uses the older bendy-arm maxifigs, so I would assume it is from the early to mid 1970's. It needs a little work on the masts, but I need more info on this one. Zane Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Are those old minifigs worth anything? I have a bunch of them. Quote
Evil Willy Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 I believe they are worth something..I have a head of them hanging around here somewhere :) Quote
KimT Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Are those old minifigs worth anything? I have a bunch of them. Not really - check bricklink for values. Sorry ;) KimT [the arms are ok though - good for long arms aka the arms on Doc Ock ;) ] Quote

snefroe Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Dude! Are you calling me old?? Inferior?? Whoa! ;) lol :P i also called you a legend, tho... hm... you're also wearing a skirt, that makes you an irish bloke, or a scottish dude or some one of a rather questionable nature... :P Quote
gylman Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 Yes of course you are quite right - My head, body and arms are "old" fig style. My 1970's bell-bottom pants (NOT skirt!!) are regular lego (my avatar filename is "retroman"). . I have a decent collection of these oldies. The arms are beautifully mobile, better than minifigs and similar to technic figs, but the bodies and legs, mostly made of bricks, sucked. Of course, for posability and mobility nothing beats the technic figs. I'll try to post some pics this weekend. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 8, 2006 Governor Posted January 8, 2006 a link to an old catalogue holding the mentioned figs Are these the same type of figures that the Brickster showed us in another thread. Can't remember which one it was now... Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted January 8, 2006 Governor Posted January 8, 2006 I expect you all to go through every single thread and find the one I'm referring to :D Actually just looking through the threads created by Brickster would do. Or just waiting till I can be bothered finding it would also work if you're not in a hurry |-D Quote
Thomas B. Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 The correct term is Maxifig. Said with a smile, not to be rude. Quote
