Wes Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 http://davidwhiteillustration.blogspot.com...omics-ahoy.html Found the artist that did those nifty comics in the new pirate set instruction books. Quote
RichardAM Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 I've only seen the photos of the comics, but from what i've seen they look great. On his blog too there's some Mars Mission/Indiana J strips too. TLG used to do comics in the instructions quite a bit previously, so i'm glad they're beginning to return to it. Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 He has done a nice job with making the comics. It's always nice to read a story about your Lego set I can draw quite well but I can't make such comics ( yet ). Quote
General Armendariz Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 (edited) I cant believe no one took pictures of the comics in the Brick Beards Bounty instruction booklet! Well I might as well show them I guess... I hope this helps! Edited December 10, 2008 by Genaral armendariz Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Nice pics but I'm not going to buy the BB because it contains a comic. Sad thing that Lego never placed comics in the old pirates-line instruction books Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Thanks for sharing those with us! Could you please resize your pictures to a maximum of 600 x 800 pixels? A tutorial about it can be found in the index, link is in my signature. I'll leave 'm in the way they are for 2 days, otherwise i'll have to remove them. Quote
Guss Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 nice pics ( too big but that's ok for me ^^ ) I took some pics of it, but I didn't take it in good quality to let a little "surprise" in the set ^^ here is an example^^ Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 7, 2009 Governor Posted February 7, 2009 Found the artist that did those nifty comics in the new pirate set instruction books. You've done well! He did very good work on those comics. Now if only we had someone like him to draw illustrations for us... Quote
Huntleyfx Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I always forget how much work it actually takes to get a LEGO set out there. Excellent find! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 8, 2009 Governor Posted February 8, 2009 Yeah, just think how many people have contributed to the finish product, from those who designed the set right down the line to those who package it. I think the images in the General's post are in desperate need of resizing... Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Yes, the comics are very nice, I love the vibrant colours and the great effects. It does strike me as odd though that the pirates are portrayed as the "good guys" and the Imperials are portrayed as the "bad guys". It always seemed to be the other way around in the Classic Pirates line. Also, all of the comics can be found on the Lego website. Quote
