Vader Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Ok seeing how many of you wanted more themes to choose from ive added a new poll with more options, unfortunatly we can only have 10 choices on the poll so please forgive me if some other lines were left off the list. Quote
gylman Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Castle rules from those choices. But...... what about Technic/Mindstorms? That's an awfully big group left out. Cheers. G Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 SW all the way for me !!!!! But I love other themes as well of course !!!!! I am a Pirate / Viking fan (not too much on catapults though hehe) !!!! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 8, 2005 Governor Posted September 8, 2005 You must be relieved that there's no catapults in the pirate theme then! Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Just wait for an hypothetical pirate line fully loaded with those... Quote
SuvieD Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 CASTLE!!! *sing* *wub* Castle *wub* Other themes are, okay I guess. I played with pirate as a child the most. Castle is still the best! ;) Quote
Hobbes Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Just wait for an hypothetical pirate line fully loaded with those... They're called "planks". And you walk them. At the "tip" gravity and weight act together and create a catapult-like effect. Very effective on the open sea. And not complicated to build, either... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 8, 2005 Governor Posted September 8, 2005 Actually, they're called "cannons" which is the technological progression of a catapult. But there's something you creatures don't realise... Quote
Dreamweb Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Quite surprised by Star Wars' leading position (but don't blame me, I'm a fan of Star Trek myself) i voted for Pirates. And I suggest that you Pirate line fans out there gave it your votes :) unfortunatly we can only have 10 choices on the poll so please forgive me if some other lines were left off the list. Well you could always make TWO threads and that would make voting for 20 themes posiible, and so on... One of them can be chosen for posting, other(s) just for voting. Quote
MattZitron Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Hmmmmm hard to choose between Jack Stone and 4+ Pirates. Ooooo maybe Gallidor! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 9, 2005 Governor Posted September 9, 2005 We're not going off topic Hobbes, we're merely discussing the reasons behind our votes and catapults are a very important determining factor when it comes to voting. Quote
Hobbes Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 We're not going off topic Hobbes, we're merely discussing the reasons behind our votes and catapults are a very important determining factor when it comes to voting. Hmm... right, I guess catapults did play a very determining role in my vote for Trains... I can't remember it but I guess it was subconscious... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 9, 2005 Governor Posted September 9, 2005 I think the point Master Yoda was making is that every time a seige weapon is released in the Castle theme its usually a catapult. After 20 years this idea starts getting a bit old! If a theme continually reuses the same idea over and over without exciting innovations, then this could lower someone's opinion of that theme and cause them to vote for another. Aren't we lucky we've only got 4 catapults (so far) in Knights Kingdom sets so far this year! But we've also got a Siege Tower and a Battle Wagon which I don't think we've had before. So that's a nice change. Now what some varations on the catapult like a trebuchet or ballista? Heck! Get me a battering ram as well! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 10, 2005 Governor Posted September 10, 2005 Isn't Ninja usually grouped with Castle rather than Adventurers? Quote
blueandwhite Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Castle (excluding anything tied to KKII). I've been a castle fanatic as long as I can remember. My first themed set was 375/6075. Needless to say, I was hooked. Ironically, I was initially repulsed by 6080 and its 'prefab' wall pieces. At the tender age of seven, I was first hit by juniorization. Still, the castle theme was hard to resist, and I have continued collecting castle-based LEGO for over twenty years. Its too bad that there is no new castle line in production (KKII does NOT count). Easily the best theme ever! Later. Quote
SuvieD Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Isn't Ninja usually grouped with Castle rather than Adventurers? Yes, but it shouldn't be. It is true that forts and castles are present but castle has always been decidedly European. Had ninja been expanding like castle had then I would gladly have choosen ninja but as it stands now ninja just isn't big enough or appealing enough to compare. Many people want to group vikings with castle or pirate also but I think it should remain it's own theme. Vikings are too cool to be be pushed into another theme. Just like ninja is. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted September 13, 2005 Governor Posted September 13, 2005 Destroy all those who want to group Vikings with Pirates! Name them at once and they shall be dealt with! Quote
Beagle Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Hmmm, well, Vikings and Pirates do both have boats, after all.... hey, come to think of it, maybe Pirates should be grouped with Vikings, Divers, Aquazone, Boat.... and, what the heck, Hockey, since it takes place on frozen water. They're all pretty much the same, right? Heh, just kidding.... just trying to get a rise out of Mr. Phes. :-D Quote
xwingyoda Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Pirates are a type of Vikings :D :P Quote
Dino_Bot Posted September 14, 2005 Posted September 14, 2005 I didn't vote, cuz many of those I like. I would have chosen SW, Dino Attack and space. Quote
General Grievous Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Star Wars and Harry Potter. Quote
