stubot Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Mr. Men and Little Miss books are a fond and vivid memory from my childhood. I’ve just started reading them again thanks to the Agatha Christie crossover books (e.g. Muddle at the Vicarage). If you love these characters too, please consider supporting this LEGO Ideas product. https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/dc9002f7-f513-4639-a830-184319cdf295 I've physically built the characters IRL, but as there are a few recolours, I've opted for digital renders. On a similar note, I designed the eyes and mouths to be a 50/50 combination of flat tiles (stickers) and curved slopes (prints). Best wishes, Mr. Stubot 🟥🟡🟦 More images in this Flickr album – https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjCYbst Quote

Borex Posted July 20 Posted July 20 I might search for my log-in digits for ideas again. This is top notch. The Mr. Men series in Dutch was my favorite series as a little kid. However i only like the old books. And only drawn by Hargreaves himself. Loved the series Timbuctoo as well. But there were only a few translated in Dutch. If you know someplace i can read all Timbuctoo stories i would be very thankful! Quote

Mr. Tickle has offered you 100 free tickles as a thank you for the kind comment. Hope you’re not too tickly! 🟠 This had completely passed me by, but I'm definitely going to try and read some. I found this wiki that has the story text and amazing covers, including Dutch books. https://timbuctoo.fandom.com/wiki/Timbuctoo Quote

One of the coolest things about Timbuctoo was that all those animals lived in Timbuctoo, but for us in the Netherlands it was called Doedeliedam (doodly dam) like Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Schiedam and all those dams. And as a kid i would tell anyone that when i’d grow up i would live in Doedeliedam. have you tried building mr. messy by the way? That should be a hard one :-) Quote

That should be a hard one :-) That's so cute, I like when they localise things. Doedeliedam is so fun to say! I did contemplate it for a wee while, as he's so iconic. But as his design is random, I think it could end up being the worst building experience ever! 🙃 Quote
