lowlead Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Tweaked the proportions and adjusted to my liking. Credit to Quarries Workshop on Rebrickable for the folding wing and cockpit changes. Edited 5 hours ago by lowlead Quote
joebiwankenobi Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Love the further refinement you've made to the cockpit and overall head shaping. You nailed the continual tapering and sloped angle of the canopy! Do you have any more photos of it? Also, did you do anything to the interior at all? Edited 4 hours ago by joebiwankenobi Quote
lowlead Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago (edited) Thanks joebiewan. This mod is a mash-up of various ideas. The cockpit redo is nearly all from Quarrie's Workshop mod (link provided above). I re-shaped the folding wings following his mod as well. The dorsal stabilizer I just filled in after adding the 3 fwd inverted 1x2 slopes and the additional 1x5x6 large slope. The engine exhaust is slightly modified so the trans-light blue tiles are recessed. Other than that, the fuselage remains unchanged - including the interior. I would definitely recommend this set if you're a fan of this vehicle, as the fuselage design is brilliant and tough as nails - wouldn't change a thing in that regard. joebiwankenobi Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Thank you for the reply! @lowlead I figured 75459 would serve as an excellent base to MOD or MOC off of, and I'm glad to see that's proving to be the case. I'll be curious to see what other developments people come up with during it's shelf life and am looking forward to seeing what I can potentially contribute as well. I'm mulling around a few ideas at the moment with a few interior and exterior mods in mind. May try lengthening the body by an additional 2 - 4 studs to correlate to increasing the wing sizes and see what can be done to fit two pilots in the cockpit. I really like how they've finally nailed retractable landing feet. The wing function on this one is super nice, too. I just wish to see a designer attempt a synchronized wing deployment function using the gears in a future release. That may be asking too much at this point with the current part palette but time will tell. The work that's been done with the X-Wings as of late demonstrates that the design time is innovating. Glad to hear that it's a rock solid build! Quote
