aFrInaTi0n Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to see if we have any software developers in the community who might be interested in teaming up on projects for the EB community. I’m looking to connect with people who complement that skill set—specifically web devs with experience in (but not limited to) PHP, JS, APIs, modern frameworks, GraphQL, and front-end tools. Instead of just building random things, I'd love to work on useful forum extensions or tools that add real value for AFOLs. For example, one idea I'm currently thinking about is an automated part-preview plugin: If someone references a specific part number in a post, the plugin would automatically grab the data and display a clean, interactive 3D render of that LEGO part directly below the post using LDraw and Three.js data. Aside from that, I am also currently experimenting on the side track with using LLMs to see if we can generate better, more accurate SEO descriptions for LEGO-related content, as the forum software defaults are not really optimal for having good SEO. To be completely upfront: This would be entirely voluntary, non-profit work. It’s purely for the fun of building cool tech, collaborating with fellow forum members, and seeing some neat concepts come to life. Unfortunately I am just a system engineer who may be able to act like a bull in a china shop.. I learned I will never be a good developer. If you're interested in chatting about what we could build, or just want to talk shop, drop a reply here or send me a PM! Cheerio! Quote
