MarcoMak Posted June 14 Posted June 14 (edited) 🏴☠️🌊My first ship moc🌊🏴☠️ 🐋"The Breathing Blue "🐋 🧭"O souls who perished at sea, loneliness shall touch you no more. Come, merge into my being, and we shall voyage across the boundless oceans, until the world grows old and grey."🧭 🏴☠️🦈By Captain Samedi M. Krake🦈🏴☠️ 🍻I love flying Dutchman, at the begining I want to make a moc of it, but there are too many people already did a good job of flying Dutchman moc, so I finally create my own ghost ship- 🐋The Breathing Blue🐋. Ghost ship is really a good topic to make a moc, because you can design anthing you want no matter it is logical in structure or not.. It really take me a long time to design this ship, it's around a year. I made many verions by studio before this final version comes out. It is very challenging to design the structure to make sure the light kits works as my expectation. There are two main layers in this ship, The 'inner transparent blue shell' - allow the light to pass through from the inside to the outside. The outer shell as you see. I was struggling between fabric sail and brick sail for a long time, finally I try the best to use brick to build a ripped sails and the outcome satisfy me. It is sad that the squid king pipe organ and the black poseidon statue can not been seen after the whole ship finished. And now I need to find a new place to display this ship, it is too big to put it next to my previous moc- the pirate paradise V2.0. I uploaded many photos to flickr and divided into different album. Sebeus I Posted June 14 Posted June 14 She truly embodies the sea, the blue transparent layers look interesting, It really adds to the ghostship feature . I love what you did with the organ, if Davy Jones is ever in the market for a new organ, he'll might take a look at this one . Quote

Kalais Posted June 19 Posted June 19 Awesome design, very unusual. I love it! P.S. Before taking photos I would suggests to iron the background to get rid of those folding squares. Or lazy option ;) - make it blur with changing camera aperture. Quote

Bridgette Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Nice ship! I really like all the blue lights, and the sails look awesome! Quote
Shiva Posted July 3 Posted July 3 Very nice build! A few questions: How fragile is it? "the details" How many pieces were needed for it? excluding minifig pieces. And do you even know how many pieces you have uses for the diorama sea? That Diorama with the pirate fortress and ships look great. Quote
Garmadon Posted July 3 Posted July 3 That blue is insane! Glorious stuff, love how you've weaved all that black together, especially with the stern and the castle Phenomenal build, mate, a year well spent Quote

The body of the ship is very solid, but the sails are weak, so I need to take all sails off before move it to other place. It is around 18000 pcs. The diorama sea is not lego, they are blue glass beads, the size is around 2-4mm. The pirate fortress is my first moc called pirate paradise V2.0, you can see more details in below link. Shiva Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Around 18000 pieces?! Yikes! Yeah, the sails look a bit fragile. Atleast you do have a solid ship. :) Ohh, sea of glas beads, ok, not LEGO parts, but nice parts usage! Cheers for the Pirate Paradise link. :) Quote
