Auroralampinen Posted Wednesday at 05:01 AM Posted Wednesday at 05:01 AM (edited) Well, as the old saying goes. When you need him the most he returns;). This time I will show my first ever model with pneumatics. Plus a first try at creating this type of model:). Let's get drums playing:). Well, here is the Mechatech Mobile Crane. My first crane moc and pneumatics moc ever:). Pieces and building time:). Pieces, 1465. Building time, around 3 days for the moc and 2 days for the 3d model and the instructions:). Functions:). V6 Engine connected to the central axle with differential. HOG Steering with 2 knobs at the roof. With different turning radius. The front axle steers more than the back axle. Crank operated outriggers. Crank operated superstructure rotation. Pneumatically operated boom lift. Crank operated boom extension. Crank operated winch. Background behind this moc:). Well, recently Sariel reviewed the legendary 8460 mobile crane and sometimes you get soo inspired from something that soon you will end up owning a new moc;). This model was inspired by the 8460:). Functions video:). Looks:). Mechatech Mobile Crane next to the Rusty Riders Amphibious Car:). Nice parts re usage:). The rear "counterbalance" design is identical to the front "grill" of the Amphibious Car:). Functions in picture format:). The outriggers do lift the model off the ground:). The fully extended boom:). The steering system turning radius:). Free instructions:). https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-263882/Auroralampinen/mechatech-mobile-crane/#details If you made this far, have a nice summer:). 2GodBDGlory Posted Wednesday at 11:30 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:30 AM Nice work, mobile cranes are always cool! I wondered if that video was your inspiration, given the timing! Glad to see that theory confirmed Quote

Glad you liked this moc/model:). Quote
allanp Posted Wednesday at 03:55 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:55 PM Looks great. Winch mech looks a bit slow, but besides that you have all the functions of the original plus an added proper piston engine. Nice job . Quote

Hi, i noted your little nice feedback and made a upgrade for the winch. Now it's moving slightly more faster:). Glad you liked this moc:). https://rebrickable.com/users/Auroralampinen/mocs/purchases/download/0/483299/8ff4a9273fd998d08ebe7a991b71d07899199a6dc7bce45ae547a96067079a16/?expire=1779953384 Quote
Auroralampinen Posted Thursday at 08:14 AM Author Posted Thursday at 08:14 AM Ok, now i have rolled a one more upgrade. My original idea was to keep the outside minimalistic without too much paneling over. But my vision didin't work out and the cabin holes were a bit too distracting. But now i have found a solution to fix these gaps and released a upgrade instructions:). And here is the winch upgrade in picture format:). Quote
Jundis Posted Thursday at 10:10 AM Posted Thursday at 10:10 AM Very nice small mobile crane and packed with functions! :-) You could use this new part from 42215 for the door maybe? Quote
allanp Posted Thursday at 05:25 PM Posted Thursday at 05:25 PM Looking good. If you want it front paged, could you have a pic with not much else in the background (see other front paged model pictures) and have it be the first pic of the first post in this topic? Quote

Allright i did now edit the first picture. Hopefully now it isin't anymore soo cluttered;). My precious pantasy city does display proudly on my kitchen table and i don't have space to move them when i take photos. But now i shuffeled them to side to hopefully make the picture backround a little bit more clean and less cluttered:). So is this better:). Quote

LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Very nice mobile crane, I think that if I were to try to make one it would be a terrible result, in the technical field I can only buy sets or instructions Quote
