ParmBrick Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Here we go with my second airport crash tender: a heavy modified version of 60499. The Godzilla is a 6x6 heavy-duty airport crash tender. It has a 10,000-liter water tank, a 500-liter foam tank, a 300-kg dry chemical compartment, and a 300-kg Halotron 1 compartment. The vehicle is powered by an 800-hp V8 diesel engine that can reach 120 km/h in dry conditions. It features an updated cab with more angular styling, fully integrated LED lighting, revised mirror housings, and a modular electronics platform. Equipment includes a front-mounted fire hose and a roof-mounted HRET (High Reach Extendable Turret) WASP, the latter equipped with a spray nozzle. This truck also has ample space for firefighting and first aid supplies, a ladder, two auxiliaries hoses (one on each side), and NBC protection. This Evee vehicle is a direct competitor to the Rosenbauer Panther and is used at major Legoland airports. Other images on my flickr! Quote
boformer Posted March 20 Posted March 20 Wow, what an upgrade! And you are a really good photographer! I love the addition of the compartment doors on the sides and the HRET. And I think increasing the height by one brick was a good decision. Quote

As soon as I saw the set, I immediately thought the proportions were wrong, and that there was too little room for the instruments. It took me two weeks of trial and error, and indeed, as with Occam's razor, the simplest solution (increasing the height of a brick) was the right thing to do. Quote
Kalais Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Looks great! Much better than original set. More realistic :) Quote
