nopingrid Posted March 6 Posted March 6 After designing a few capital ships in midi scale for Brickvault, I wanted to challenge myself with a model with minimal studs. Therefore, the top panels of the Avenger is basically entirely SNOT, which allowed me to include a lot of details like the half plate offsets. This model took about a month to design and it's 38.7cm long, 22.6cm wide and about 17cm tall. It uses 1536 pieces, so it's quite dense for a midi scale model. The superstructure has a bunch of greebling details using clips, round plates, bars and roller skates. The entire thing is removable to reveal easter eggs hidden inside the ship like this tie fighter: Unfortunately the underside doesn't look as good as the top, there are a bunch of studs and some gaps. The hangar is also present but there are gaps due to the panel construction and the 2 degree difference between the cheese grater slopes and the 2x3 wedge plates. Here's how the ship looks next to 2 other models, the official Executor set and also my Arrestor Cruiser MOC The instructions for this model is on my Rebrickable (nopingrid) if you're interested in building this! Sentinel_Brix Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Very nice, very smooth. Interesting approach you've taken and the result is really remarkable. I love the last image, with the Arrestor and Avenger together.  Quote
Feuer Zug Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Solid build. Sounds like it's quite heavy for it's size. Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted Thursday at 05:50 PM Posted Thursday at 05:50 PM Wow what a neat design! Great starships! Quote
jimmynick Posted Friday at 11:38 AM Posted Friday at 11:38 AM It's gorgeous. Nothing else really to say. The tiny offsets on the hull are great, the docking bay is perfect, just wow! Quote
