I used my BuWizz 2.0 (which I bought in late 2020) for the first time in a few months, and the BuWizz app on my phone asked me to update the firmware of my BuWizz. It updated the firmware to 1.2.70 which it shows as up-to-date. However, when trying to control a motor, there is a noticeable delay from my slider input to the motor, i.e. the motor would not start/stop until slightly after I move/release the slider in my control profile. I tested it with a PF Medium motor and Servo motor, and both did this, so I'm pretty sure it has to do with the BuWizz rather than the motors (both motors performed fine when I tested them with a PF AA battery box). Additionally, the Servo motor would not stop calibrating when in Ludicrous mode. My device is an iPhone 15 Pro on iOS 26.2.

Did anyone else encounter similar issues, and if so, did you find a way to resolve it? I am planning on using my BuWizz for another MOC so ideally I want to have it resolved before I begin working on the MOC.

Thanks!

@amorti weren't you experiencing similar with the Buwizz 2 since the firmware upgrade?

I wonder if it's just an issue with the BuWizz app itself or if it's an issue with the actual BuWizz unit. I plan to test it with BrickController2 and see if the issue still persists.

@amorti were you able to find a fix for this issue? Thanks!

I think for @amorti was not able to use thte brickcontroller2 app at all any longer with the new firmware... Think Istvan has not released any updated for his app since the latest firmware upgrade from Buwizz were released.

Bummer...I really hope this doesn't render my BuWizz 2.0 unfunctional now. While it still technically works it makes it really hard to control my models if there is such a large delay for every command.

Edit: I did see you mentioned in the main BuWizz topic some people may have energy savings enabled on their phone or their screen turns off during the firmware update which could affect it. My screen did turn off once during the firmware update, so I'm wondering if that could be it, although it still completed the entire install process. Now I wonder if there's a way to "re-download" the latest firmware and have my phone stay on this time.

I've realised that of my 3* buwizz 2 units, one has a fault in the driver for socket 4 so that a servo twitches.

I don't think the new firmware is at fault for that one, more likely there's some corrosion from it sitting, or maybe I burned it out at some point and didn't realise/ forgot.

This is a real pity, since the buwizz 3 no longer works with brick controller 2.
