Can we just get the Ninjago guys on something SW already? Like maybe a TIE Avenger (#344) I wouldn't blame the star wars designers for that- the lack of variety is probably not driven by them. And of course, the themes aren't without crossover- Aaron Newman made the Vader bust, for one, but I'm sure there's more crossover. We can also see the limitations the designers work with- Daniel Lehmann has stated that he was trying to get the TMAG AT-RT smaller than the 327th one, and says he was only able to get the legs to be slightly more squat due to other requirements of the build. He also states he was told to make Ahsoka's interceptor the same scale as previous ones, so no getting around that. (Lehmann's great- you can tell from his statements that he loves star wars and knows the lore.) 9 hours ago, Meaf said: It feels like exposed studs are becoming a bit of a lost art in official sets honestly. Obviously it's more appropriate for something like a star fighter or the like to mostly be smooth just to make it look better/more accurate, but there's something to be said for a vehicle that's just covered in studs. Absolutely. Something that's supposed to be sleek should be studless, but studded surfaces work great for greebling and weathering. Quote

That’s really cool, I need to check them out more often. I had a feeling Aaron Newman was involved with the bust, given how strong the build is. With that and the Iron Man statue, I’m glad he’s getting involved in licensed themes. And yeah it’s not a designer issue, reminds me of the designer of the Hulk Monster Truck mentioning it’s something they were told to do much to their bemusement. CloneCommando99 Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago I wanted to make an Easter meme. This is the best I could think of without complication. 345 days of such an eggcellent campaign. I really hope the armoured Officer for the trailers is in the AT AT. I really need an imperial field commander. So far I only have Agent Kallus. Also we really need a Battlepack to expand imperial forces. On 4/2/2026 at 5:58 PM, Mandalorianknight said: Yeah, I meant those. I guess the AT-RT also technically counts. It’s a shame really. I literally had the Pellaeon mentality/ hope for this year. But where are we? Still no versatile battlepacks, 2 extremely expensive sets. The cheapest global set with a stormtrooper is the Razor Crest. We’re now in the 2nd year of a no new dumb TIE Fighters streak regardless of the Avenger. The only medium sized vehicle is the AT RT. Ahsoka S2 sets currently being MIA… Sorry if this feels like I’m whining. (Also, why doesn’t Pellaeon just use his Viltrumite powers to help the remnant? Is he stupid?) Quote

They probably wanna avoid another Skeleton Crew situation. My guess would be November/December for the show and January or March for the sets. Quote

The crossover between themes to fit designer strengths is really nice. Yup. Even the oft-maligned mechs aren't the fault of the mech guy (I forget his name, but no disrespect to him, he makes excellent mechs)- he's good at making mechs and presumably enjoys it, but he's not walking into the office and forcing John Lego to put mechs everywhere. He just gets assigned according to his strengths. 10 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: I really hope the armoured Officer for the trailers is in the AT AT. I really need an imperial field commander. Still a vast improvement from last year. It's rough, but we're improving. Hopefully 2027 gets us a new quintessential TIE, a dewback, imperial battle pack, and/or some spacetroopers. I received the Advanced polybag and Mando's speeder today, and interestingly I think they both have the same issue and reason for it: Advanced: At the end of the day it's a polybag and it does what it needs to do, but I'm going to talk about it anyway. I'm really impressed by the connection of the wings to the fuselage, some fun part usage of that ...1x6 inverted part? I don't know what it's called. But great shaping achieved for that segment of the build, especially for a polybag. I feel like the wings could have been done differently to avoid gaps. If you replace the 1x8 plates with 1x6 ones, swap the 2x4 tiles for plates, and add 4 black 1x6 tiles, you pretty much remove the gaps and get better wing proportions. Given it's a polybag there's a real chance those 4 1x6 tiles would have been too much, though, and I'm not sure where I'd remove material to get those tiles in. A tricky situation at that scale, but I feel like there HAS to be some way to remove the gaps whilst keeping it stable and without more parts- I may attempt this later if I have time. Mando's speeder: I'm torn on this, because having it in hand it is a really cute set, but it really isn't as accurate as you'd expect for the theme, and I think kids DO care about something like Mando not being able to sit and hold the controls at the same time. (He CAN hold the controls, he just ends up misaligned with the studs so he's not really sitting, moreso hovering over the seat.) Another one where I feel like there has to be a solution, but I can't see it and at the piece count the set's at I don't know what I would change. Like with the Advanced, I may look at seeing if there's a different way to do the controls, but I'm a lot less confident I'd be able to find something here.
