[MOC] Chemical Tank Cars

Chemical tank cars, inspired by various images on the web. The cars are 8-wide, 34 studs in length. The black and white color scheme is courtesy of a 92176 that was sacrificed for the builds.

 

Most of the SNOT work went through a few iterations. In the first build bogies/ladders collided and caused problems on r40 curves.

The bottom of the car is integrated with the frame for the tank, the sides and top are just attached in a few places and pretty easy to remove.

Nice pair of tank cars. Interesting method for mounting the wheel assemblies. They do look good.

What I like about the design is that there is no frame and that the tank itself is the supporting structure that rests on the bogies!
