Ross Fisher Posted October 3 Posted October 3 (edited) Autumn is when soldiers are released from service to gather in the harvest. Please introduce your character, show their home and the life they have built for themselves. This prompt will be subject to the rules laid out in How to Play. The subject is open to your interpretation. Your MOC can be literally any size. You don't even have to include terrain if you don't want to. Just remember that every player gets the chance to vote for their favourites. If you want that to include your build, think about how you'd get people to vote for you. To submit an entry, add your own thread topic under Tales of Old. Start the title with [FACTION - CH1]. Then, once that topic is published, link to it in this topic. Easy! Entries will close and voting will open on Monday 3 November. Entries submitted after that date may miss out on votes from their colleagues. Players must belong to a faction before submitting an entry. We just want to know where your home is, geographically. It may also help you to think about what your homeland is like. Feel free to ask questions here or to your faction leaders. Edited 11 hours ago by Ross Fisher

I would like to vote for Ayrlego’s Vatatzes estate build. It has so much character, the style is so warm and reminiscent of a sunny Mediterranean villa and is easily recognized as such. It is impressive how many nicely thought out structural characteristics are included in that size of a build!
Ross Fisher Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 I'm going to vote for: @Khorne for a lovely digital build when I don't normally like them. @evancelt For sheer volume.

I vote for the following: @Ayrlego - great composition and framing @The Sarge - fabulous techniques throughout @Professor Thaum - excellent color selections @Dutch Thriceman - great compact build and i especially love the roundy bits for texture in the walls @Ross Fisher - that roof! And great bonneted figures ------- Honorable mentions: @Khorne - great weathering on the walls! @TribunM - absolutely love that staircase railing

So many great entries! Hopefully I'll have time to get something submitted for the next challenge I vote for: @LegacyBuilder - Great atmosphere on that build @evancelt - Really love it! I really like the continuity of that red flag with the white slash and the multi-angled black roof @The Sarge - Seeing all those cool techniques in the WIP channel on discord was very fun Edited November 4 by geoffrey_blockington Added The Sarge
Dutch Thriceman Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I don't normally think bigger is automatically better but from the moment @evancelt posted Castle Brickington I fell in love with the stronghold so that gets my primary vote. While there is a simplicity to the main walls texture it really complements the roof/parapet/side tower as well as the window and door detailing and landscape in a way where it all comes togheter very lovely. I do really like @Ayrlego for it's technical (technique?) impressive detailed work, it's a gorgeous build, I think every build I've seen from him in the past has alway been great, so that would get my secondary vote and/or honourable mention.
Khorne Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I'll allow myself three votes, going to the following builds (in no particular order): @Professor Thaum, because I love the camel and just the overall build @evancelt; the characters are lovely + a behemoth build, on which I follow what Dutch said above @Ross Fisher; unique building type with the shape and roof and a fun read Honorable mentions from my part to @Ayrlego for the beautiful build with gorgeous architecture and vegetation. I was pondering on giving myself a fourth vote, but didn't want to break my self-imposed rule. Also kudos to @Dutch Thriceman for his build. A lot of details on a relatively small footprint. Overall I liked everyone's entries and stories. I'm happy with the participation and hopefully we can make it even bigger.
Professor Thaum Posted November 5 Posted November 5 3 votes for me too : @Dutch Thriceman : for this beautiful venetian touch. @Ayrlego : As usual. Very clever balcony railing and those large arched windows. @evancelt : Sooooo scottish, so highlander ! honorable mention : @The Sarge. Too bad we can't see the whole house, that timber-frame wall was promishing.
Tylar Posted Wednesday at 07:56 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:56 PM My votes go for: 1) @evancelt because of the shape and right proportons of its scotish-like castle. 2) @Ayrlego for the aesthetic of its build, the combination of colours.
merc Posted Thursday at 03:48 AM Posted Thursday at 03:48 AM My votes for the following two in no order @Ayrlego for the color combinations and details @evancelt for the awesome size and scale of the castle My honorable mentions are @Professor Thaum for his unique take on a desert dwelling, color combination and brick built camels. @Sarge for the awesome brick built wall. @Khorne for the nice digital build that flows nicely
Professor Thaum Posted Thursday at 06:05 PM Posted Thursday at 06:05 PM I would like to change my vote. The one of @Jim is far more better than the others
