evancelt Posted September 14 Posted September 14 A raven knight build I've had in mind for a while, with brick-built bright light orange and black banners against a sand blue castle. Finally had a chance to use some of the old brown and dark brown 3741 grass pieces I've been collecting. The castle is non-rectangular due to brick-bending, which unfortunately led to some of the plates popping off! Quote
Shroffy123 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Looks very good. Where did you get the nasel helmets from? Quote
zoth33 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 I really like the color choices and the landscaping looks great. Nice scene and the pathway is a nice touch. 8 minutes ago, Shroffy123 said: Looks very good. Where did you get the nasel helmets from? All the custom helms look like they are from Brickwarriors. MKJoshA Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Love the blue castle! Very non-traditional, but the colors totally work. Quote
evancelt Posted September 15 Author Posted September 15 Thanks for the frontpage! Here are a few behind the scenes shots taken during building Spoiler Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Wow, beautiful castle and incredible color choice. Epic MOC! Quote
Seagull King of Vaughan Posted September 16 Posted September 16 This is a lovely colour! It’s uncommon in my experience to see a castle which is not some shade of grey, or black (those that are not tend to be based off the 375 yellow castle). Magnificently executed, especially the contrast of the dark blue battlements with the rest of the wall. There seems to be some bending on the top corner of the castle. Probably not intentional, but it added some character to the build, in my view. Quote
GeoBrick Posted September 16 Posted September 16 That's alot of plates and ingots to build up the walls. Makes the dark blue crenallation bricks feel a bit rough as a result. I wouldn't expect to have the yellow banners work with the blueish castle as background, but it does! Landscaping is super. A bit of greebling in front, towards the back curved, and the edges with plants or trees. Nice composition. I see what you mean with plates popping. In the largest size I see the flooring of the crenalations lifted a bit upwards. Quote
flyingpancake Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Great build! I wonder if the other side of the wall is as detailed as the front Quote
Elysiumfountain Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Awesome job! I love the landscaping work, and the way you built the castle walls adds to the realism. Very well done! Quote
DonQuixote Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Nice techniques and landscape but rather dull castle . Those bardings, stickers or Ali ? Quote
InspectorShinyGrape Posted October 8 Posted October 8 @DonQuixote I think it's from Picklebricks: https://www.picklebricks.com/product-page/raven-knights-horse-barding Quote

I often go to brick warriors, but haven't been to thrilled with them lately. Quote

InspectorShinyGrape Posted October 8 Posted October 8 @evancelt Okay, thanks for info. @Shroffy123 I don't use any of them, sorry. I mostly buy my Lego used on the after market, as well as specific parts from PAB and Bricklink. Quote
