CraftyMarshmallow Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) I’d like to share my latest MOC a Speed Champions–style convertible roadster. I wanted to capture the feel of a classic open-top sports car in the compact 8-stud format. It has foldable roof, detailed interior, and figures to cruise around town. I had a lot of fun designing this and have also submitted it to LEGO Ideas — if you’d like to support it and see more pictures, you can check it out https://beta.ideas.lego.com/product-ideas/d49f37b0-867c-4083-9b19-3f47b672fe3f. Thanks Everyone! Edited September 16, 2025 by CraftyMarshmallow attached better quality photos Quote
FGMatt Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 Slightly different headlights and you've basically made yourself a Jaguar E-Type! Quote
CraftyMarshmallow Posted September 2, 2025 Author Posted September 2, 2025 i did model it after the e type. Good eye! I would have to change the exhaust and the bulge on the hood to run longer. Quote
ParmBrick Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 That's an excellent model! Love how smoothly the foldable roof work Quote
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted September 3, 2025 Posted September 3, 2025 Wow, what a great model! The front bumper using sausages is brilliant. Quote
CraftyMarshmallow Posted September 4, 2025 Author Posted September 4, 2025 At this scale, there aren’t many small curved pieces to choose from, so the sausage ended up being the perfect fit for shaping that rounded front end. I imagine LEGO designers run into the same thing with Speed Champions (or any small-scale build) — you’re often limited by what a single piece can provide in terms of both structure and appearance. In a way, that restriction actually makes the design choices easier. Quote
