Murdoch17 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This train station was inspired by Grand Central Terminal in New York City, and this MOC on Rebrickable (although mine is slightly smaller and done differently). This station was created to go with my dad's two massive 48x48 passenger canopies. (which I didn't have with me when taking pictures at my place so there are no combined model pictures) I've named the station 'Bricksburg Terminus' after the city from the first LEGO Movie. This model's parts was were bought by my father, and constructed by me for him using the designs I made. The street side. The station is modular building compatible. There will be three lines of train tracks inside this shed. Inside view with roof removed (there are no interior details for the building) The roof insert is just a smidge smaller than the hole it needs to fill so that it fits without issue. My dad has built two of these train shed canopy models, with one of them shown here. The canopy is to be 7 tracks long when combined with the other section and the headhouse portion, and 3 tracks wide. (This picture is from 2022 and thus is slightly out of date in some details. But as it is the only picture I have of any of the canopy segments it will have to do.) Thoughts? Quote
Feuer Zug Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Quite the terminus and train shed. I like the neo-classical architecture and the use of the new clock elements. My only concern is the solid train shed roof. If you look at European stations, the shed often has clear panels to allow light in. It makes for a much better atmosphere. That must have taken a few cups of hinges at the pick-a-brick wall to make. Quote

And yes, over 270 hinges for the main sections together, with the leftovers being used for the smaller section later. The shed portions were first constructed almost a decade ago, and my dad basically refused any advice on skylights / smoke vents from anyone at that time... he's really stubborn like that. But yes, I totally agree with you on the matter! 1 hour ago, JopieK said: Very nice @Murdoch17. Let the trains enter! Thanks @JopieK! Quote
