Official Battle Packs are back - sort of

LEGO has, in a way, reintroduced battle packs. If you’re in a country with online Build-a-Minifigure, you can select from a variety of preselected minifigures in each bundle. The bundles are:

- Viking warriors

- Lion knight archers

- Horses with lion knight caparisons

- Wolfpack marauders with wolves

- Magenta knights

There’s little to no variety in each bundle and the price is no better than buying the parts separately. But if you’re army building, it could save you time. It also shows that LEGO is thinking in the right direction even if this isn’t quite what most Castle fans would consider ideal.

You can find them in LEGO’s online shop on the 31168 Creator Horse Knight Castle page and scrolling down almost to the bottom.

You said "Wolves" and I got excited - it's actually the husky. 

There's also a Pirates Bundle, with one captain and four generic pirates.

Either way, nice find. They kinda did something similar with the Lion Knight's Castle and made a link to get just Castle parts on that store's page... Apparently it got enough clicks that Lego wanted to do it again!

I also wonder if this is preemptive to the horse and snake knight parts getting added to Pick a Brick, so make bundles of those more readily available.

I guess it is just an extension to what they have been doing in online PAB where they have theme based filters making it easier for people not used to using PAB. I did quite well out of the older (trial) build a minifigure online where it was fixed price for a minifigure plus accessory.  I got lots of dual moulded legs and animals such that the individual parts were selling for about 2.5x what the fixed cost per figure was.

Pretty lame imo.

Its just easier to find horses and bardings for example. Prices are the same.
