SpacePolice89 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 Let me present my new faction for the Summer Faction Festival contest. They are called Futuron 2. The faction is a special unit of Futuron that is specialized in exploring remote planets with extreme environments. That is the reason for their different uniforms and colors. The colors of their vehicles are similar to Futuron but instead of trans dark blue canopies theirs are trans green. The photo below is a for illustrative purposes only (to show the color scheme) and not an entry in the contest. I built a spaceship for the same faction for Lego Ideas a couple of years ago and that is the one pictured below. Quote
Feuer Zug Posted Monday at 02:42 PM Posted Monday at 02:42 PM Good looking crew. We just have to wonder about the one who's suit is melting. Nice work on the classic starship. It fits the Futuron ideas, even if you are using SP II pieces. Quote

I guess the he got too close to some lava or magma and survived with only some damage to his spacesuit. I decided to use trans green instead of trans dark blue because Classic Space also had different colored windscreens. At first all were trans yellow and then switched to trans green and trans dark blue. Maybe they would've done something similar with Futuron if it the subtheme had lasted longer? They even planned a Futuron spaceship with a trans red canopy for the Seatron monorail set. Edited Monday at 03:05 PM by SpacePolice89 Quote
GeoBrick Posted Monday at 03:48 PM Posted Monday at 03:48 PM Nice-looking crew. Though I couldn't help but notice LEGO still needs to release proper-colored gloves for some of them. ;) I can't remember of the top of my head in what set they were in, but where did you get those red transparent shields from? Thanks! Yes, I couldn't find hands in the correct colors but I got the idea to use white hands from the prototype green Futuron minifig. I guess they didn't have green hands when they created the prototype and also had to use white hands. The shields are from 6951. They were also available in a couple of other Classic Space sets.
