Agent Kallus Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Before you see the pictures I'd like to warn you I was having trouble rendering them, so unfortunately it's LDD Screenshots, less than ideal and so I'll try and fix that soon. The QIE Series are the empire's answer the rebellions successful deployment of modified freighters like the Ghost, The Millennium Falcon and the Outrider. Designed to be bulkier and more multipurpose than the more traditional TIE line, the QIE line uses five ions engines to allow them impressive speed and manoeuvrability despite their size. The fourth of the QIE series flips that thinking on its head and instead adds QIE series framework and power to a standard tie cockpit, creating a single man fighter with absurd amount of armour and firepower. Sienar engineer's boast that the QIE Dominator can level an entire city and that it can carry enough munitions and ammunition do easily take out any enemy defence emplacements before they have time to respond. a sensor array dish connected to and advanced droid brain allows the ship to have more heavy turbolasers than a single pilot would be able to aim independently. With heavy armour and shielding the the QIE dominator small singular solar radiation collection panel is not enough to supply power for the ship, but with its advance shielding and hyperdrive they should be able to get back to base to refuel and recharge in one piece. You might've noticed that this is QIE 4, well I had originally planned on making all 5 QIE fighters for this contest however that was biting off a bit too much really especially as I was away from y bricks and computer for the majority of May. Mandalorianknight Posted July 1 Posted July 1 Very nice! I wouldn't envy swooshing it IRL, but that's the price to pay for that level of greebling details and that great heli blade part usage for the turret. The design language immediately tells you "big experimental TIE", and being quickly visually identifiable is one of the more important things for a star wars ship IMO. Quote
MKJoshA Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Some great greebling here. I find the gaps between the cockpit and the right and front sides of the ship distracting. But overall this is an impressive TIE. Quote
