------------------------ Hi, short Question, did you discuss the Traintracks from Cobi in the past? There are straights and curved R88 in wood decor. It seems that nobody really cares about them. There is no visible Branding on it and they are more delicate/filigree. There is a Review about an Set that includes the tracks on the website Steinekanal. https://www.steine-kanal.de/cobi-dr-br-52-steam-locomotive-executive-edition-6280-review/ What do you think about that? Yperio_Bricks Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Welcome to Eurobricks @Lonestar If you want to add pictures to your post, you have to host them elsewhere at a site like flickr, imgur or basically any website that allows you to upload pictures. In your case you simply can copy the image location (address ending with the file format .jpg) from an image in your link and add to your eurobricks forum post and the image will be shown here. Quote
L-Gauger Posted June 20 Posted June 20 @Lonestar, welcome to Eurobricks! I had no clue that Cobi was offering brick-built train kits... I have to say, their straights and curves look really nice from photos. I wonder how the build quality compares to Lego track, and whether the two brands of track are compatible with one another. JopieK Posted June 22 Posted June 22 @Lonestar thanks for joining! However, we post in English here to make sure everyone doesn't need to use Google translate. Also like on 1000steine, we mainly discuss LEGO. You can discuss other brands but it is more for "Community" really. Quote

They certainly look compatible; the picture on the box shows a very similar connecting system. They look quite good with the tile-style sleepers; not sure about their being one-wide though as it means that you end up with four one-wide sleepers and then one two-wide where the track sections join. Lonestar Posted June 23 Author Posted June 23 I got them here with me and they are very nice. They fit very well with other brands. What i dont like is the connection between the tracks. They fit perfect together with a nice feeling when the tracks connect. But in my opinion is the part where they connect to big. Every railway sleeper is 1x8 Studs but where the connection is, it is 2x8 studs. Every track pice costs around 1,50€-2€ i am not shure if this is enough pro´s to change the rails on existing course. M_slug357 Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Looks weird, but I like the built in wood texture. Would be wild if TLG ever graced us with dual molded track... I think Cobi should've either stuck with the 2x8 ties but maybe increase the spacing between them (for less ties per section), or gone with 1.5x8 ties in order to better mask the width difference Quote
