SpacePolice89 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 I have tried to go to Lugnet and update my set database but I can't reach Lugnet at all. I only get this message "This site can't be reached". I know that Lugnet is mostly dead but their database of older sets is very valuable and I still log in from time to time. I have tried different browsers with the same result and my internet is working fine. I even tried going there using my phone but with the same result. Is this the end of Lugnet? Update: Now it suddenly started to work again. I also managed to log in. I remember back in the day when Lugnet was huge. So many memories. Quote
SpacePolice89 Posted September 29 Author Posted September 29 (edited) Anyone else still using LUGNET for information about old sets? I've been a member since 2002 and before that I also used to visit the site. When I joined I had to pay $10. The last few days I've seen this message when visiting the site and I don't want to log in anymore. JesseNight Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I'm unfamiliar with this site, but doesn't that message just means it's just an older HTTP site rather than a modern secure HTTPS site? Or security certificates have expired? I think that doesn't matter as long as you don't fill in sensitive information on the site, and have a unique password you don't use elsewhere. Quote

If that's the case I have nothing to worry about. My LUGNET username and password are unique for that website. Thanks for the information! LUGNET used to be one of the main Lego fan sites on the internet when I started visiting Lego fan sites online in 2000. I created my own account in 2002 and had to pay $10 for it. Back then I didn't have a credit card so I had to mail the money to them. Link to the Wikipedia article about LUGNET Quote
CP5670 Posted October 16 Posted October 16 It works fine for me. I used to post there way back in the day, it was the original hub for Lego discussion and there wasn't really any other place to discuss lego until Eurobricks in mid 2000s. The set database is all on Brickset now, but records of that old discussion of lego is still useful. Quote
