I’m curious - are there some new molds in the summer wave?

And which sets are Great Vehicles for construction sets? I would like to add some to my modular city.

New molds I've spotted include:

  • Both the front and rear bucket on the 60480 Backhoe Loader, which have two Technic pinholes to attach instead of the three used on some larger Technic buckets.
  • Thin tractor tires on the same Backhoe Loader set
  • A very promising 2x2 boulder with a top and bottom section. The top is two plates tall and the bottom is three plates tall (with an attachment similar to the 2x2 inverted dome/bowl). I'm very excited for this piece because it provides a nice compact alternative to classic 4x4 boulder elements. It appears in dark tan in the construction sets and opalescent trans purple in one of the Friends sets.
  • The pug in 60494 and 60506

Haven't seen any other obvious ones yet. It's possible that there's some more functional/structural ones built into some of the sets, but it's also possible that most of those sorts of parts debuted in the first half of the year (which had quite a few novel new parts for City). There's also several sets we haven't seen as well as the Lava Land set which we've only seen one small picture of so far.

Since we've collectively agreed on the port train being a small shunter at this point, maybe it could use one of these mould king train motors without the pins to make up for not having the size for a hub

(Edit: Whoops, might be a bit too big)

Parts of me are thinking it’ll be based from an 03,04 or 08
