Lyichir Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Since migrating my main public social media to Bluesky (https://bsky.app/) from Twitter, I've missed being able to automatically embed my posts when I link them in a comment here (for example, sharing a social media post with MOC images). Would it be possible to implement embedding of Bluesky posts? This is both a request and a query, I genuinely don't know how embedding is done or if it would be something that could be implemented separately or if Twitter embedding is baked into the forum software. JesseNight Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm not an admin, but I don't think such a thing would be easily done. The problem with social media is that they often create complex links and sometimes the formula for those changes. They're likely not a fan of their content being embedded everywhere. The easiest for yourself is to just use a free image host like https://imgbb.com because they give a direct link to the picture that the forum picks up to embed it. You can do a quick upload without an account being required at all, or make an account if you wanna be able to manage your content later. Quote
aFrInaTi0n Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Hello @Lyichir, as Jesse pointed out already, such implementations are not always easy to implement. Additionally we are currently in a phase where we would like to upgrade to the latest major version from the vendor of the forum software. Our goal there is to upgrade to the major upgrade 1st, afterwards we may have time to think about such features to get implemented. So right now it is a "sorry, we don't have the capacity & priority for such requests right now" - but please don't read it as a rude "nope"! I would encourage you to give the topic a bump in half a year - also if others are using Bluesky and would like to have an implementation, please put your interest in the thread. Quote
aFrInaTi0n Posted June 1 Posted June 1 @Lyichir The latest version I just updated has support for Bluesky embedding, may you try (even here in this posting, as long as you have some content which is related to LEGO - I would be curious how it is looking.) test post for a bluesky embedding - sheeeesh thats a big huge, isn't it?! :D Quote
Lyichir Posted June 1 Author Posted June 1 Sure, I'll give it a try! Seems to work great! Thank you so much! Quote
