Indeed, it’s a mentality I really cannot get behind. Like the people who skipped the first two episodes of Squid Game S2 to get to the games. So much important set-up they’re missing!

That said, I can somewhat understand the mindset of skipping anime-exclusive episodes/arcs (actual filler) simply because they are not relevant to the overall plot as dictated by the manga. Personally, I’d still watch them since even filler can be entertaining!

I'm currently on episode 850. I've been watching it for the past 5 years or so. There are some arcs/episodes I would say are ok to skip. But it would number in the dozens. Overall it's an investment in time that I would say has paid off and I would do it again. The character development and story-lines that pay off are so good.
