I haven't seen such legs and hips in a while in new sets. Is this style still being used? I'm meaning ones like in the picture below. It doesn't have to be white and black, gray and black was also very popular not so long ago and many other combinations also exists. I've seen many printed legs with hips in different colors and many unprinted single color leg and hip assemblies in recent sets. According to Bricklink the white/black version hasn't been made since 2020. I can't find them on Pick a Brick either. I ended up buying used ones because I'm building a small Blacktron 2 force based on the recent Blacktron 2 CMF torso with otherwise the same parts as the original.

This is the type of legs I'm asking about

I'm building several Blacktron 2 astronauts like the one in the middle but with the same helmet as the M-Tron minifig.

I just looked through all the minifigures from this year and last year and it looks like they aren't. It seems the current trend is to either use monochrome legs or use printing or dual molding to provide a less thong-like appearance.

Yes, that seems to be the case. The ones with hips and legs in different colors that I managed to find on Pick a Brick all had printing. One style that never caught on was the one with legs in different colors. The Dragon Knight using that part looked great though.
