Usually late January or early February, but I think last year's list appeared exceptionally early. I'd say within 2-3 weeks I'm curious to see if they're able to conjure something from my wishlist, ridiculously short as it now is. The two biggest things previously on there were just crossed off in one swift blow, after all! Fingers crossed for a Battle of the Department of Mysteries set and a new Gambledore minifig! Beyond that, I'm running out of things to ask for Quote

I’d love to see this as well, along with a playscale Gringotts based on DH Part 2 and the Inferi scene from HPB. The latter would make for an awesome diorama. I’m guessing that with 3 of the 4 Hogwarts House Ghosts now being released under the current castle system, we can expect one of the summer expansion sets to include the Slytherin Common Room and the Bloody Baron? BacktoBricks Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Thank you everyone. Hopefully we shall see some set names for the summer within the next month then. And yes Gambledore would be most welcome, as would Neville, Luna, Ginny and Ron from the Department of Mysteries, especially the first two as the later were released wearing those outfits back in 2010. A DH Ron would be nice also, but that's probably too hopeful! Oh and a fluffy Crookshanks. Quote
Koomazaz Posted January 5 Posted January 5 I'm re-posting this. Here is my dream lineup of how I would hope they finish out the Hogwarts Castle line, across the next two years. Hogwarts Castle: Clock Tower - Provides one or two sides of the quad behind the Main Tower, and connects to the Hospital Wing. I'd like the clock tower itself to be relatively film-accurate when viewed from the front or the back, so we get the iconic exterior and courtyard while also not revealing interior play features when viewing the Hogwarts model from the front. I'd suggest that the top level of the tower should have the full grey roof visible from both sides, while the bottom half (which will be hidden behind the Main Tower set) could be open, either displaying a classroom or two or the swinging pendulum. If LEGO chooses to fully enclose the quad, this set could be L-shaped and offer three classrooms, mirroring the Hospital Wing set. I'd love to see another version of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, providing additional iconic elements. So perhaps this set could include Moody's class (with foe glasses, the blackboard, and some spiders) and the Prefect's bathroom? I like the idea of each large set including a big fig, and these rooms that I picked are Goblet of Fire themed, so I'd pick the Hungarian Horntail for this one. Hogwarts Castle: Lockhart's Class - A modular classroom set that features more iconic Defense Against the Dark Arts elements, such as the dragon skeleton, the pixies, the small balcony, and Lockhart's giant portrait. Hogwarts Castle: Astronomy Tower - A thinner but tall set, including several thinner rooms, stacked vertically. It can optionally connect, via a suspension bridge, to the side of the Hospital Wing set. It would be Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince themed, including a Room of Requirement (Dumbledore's Army style), Divination class, Umbridge's office, the Slug Club party, and the Astronomy class at the top. Perhaps a small jail cell for Sirius' escape, and we could get a Buckbeak big fig. Hogwarts Castle: Viaduct Entrance - This would be a smaller set, similar in size to the Hospital Wing, and it would connect adjacent to the Astronomy Tower set. On the top floor would be the library with restricted section, and the Slytherin common room in the basement. Perhaps a potions storage room or Snape's office also? Bloody Baron for this set! Hogwarts Castle: Chamber of Secrets - A lot of people think that the Chamber should be under the Viaduct Entrance. I'd prefer to see more of the right side of the castle, completing the whole facade. I'd prefer for the Long Gallery and Bell Towers designed to be a large Chamber of Secrets themed set. The Flying Lesson would finally have a connection point, and this set would connect to the Viaduct Entrance set. On the upper level would be Moaning Myrtle's bathroom and the "The Chamber of Secrets Has Been Opened" hallway. Under Moaning Myrtle's bathroom could be the entrance to the Chamber, with the iconic door and bones. The wider section of the basement would include the walkway with snake statues and the large Slytherin head statue. The big fig would be the basilisk. Hogwarts Castle: Battle of Hogwarts - The stand-alone viaduct that connects the Viaduct Entrance to the Great Hall. This set would include several Deathly Hallows minifigures, including Voldemort, Harry, Neville, and Nagini. And just because... Hogwarts Castle: Whomping Willow Quote

That's a really dark scene, though, with no real way to lighten it up. The only similar set I can think of so far would be the Rise of Voldemort, and I don't think that one did so well commercially. Sure we've had our share of fairly dark DH sets lately but those were mostly kiddified, you know? Motorcycle chase (a staple in LEGO's action themes), home of the quirky Lovegoods, Malfoy Manor with toilet humour and a massively oversized lobster in the kitchen, that kind of thing. Accio Lego Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I imagine that Star Wars is leaking first with Pokemon rumored next because those are the themes that supposedly feature the new smart brick, which Lego just officially announced. That means Harry Potter will probably have to wait a few weeks for leaks, but it also means that Harry Potter fans will be able to hunker down and watch as the chaos of the smart brick introduction is worked out from a safe distance. 10 hours ago, Kaijumeister said: I’m guessing that with 3 of the 4 Hogwarts House Ghosts now being released under the current castle system, we can expect one of the summer expansion sets to include the Slytherin Common Room and the Bloody Baron? I wouldn’t bet of that – Nick and the Friar came in the flagship sets of separate years. The Grey Lady coming in a smaller winter wave set could easily mean that she’s the house ghost for this year. Keep in mind, the most guessed location for this year’s big summer set is the Chamber of Secrets, something that would not leave any room in the dungeon level for the Slytherin common room and could easily include Moaning Myrtle as the token ghost. If that’s the case, it would make much more sense to see Slytherin represented next year. Quote
BacktoBricks Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) If Lego is having to work around the new show at all, and in order to really do the castle justice, I would have thought that the castle will end next year, before the show premieres in 2027. There may be some crossover and as we don't know when the show will air in 2027, I would have thought Lego has to keep the castle going until then. I don't think it would make sense to start another one in the crossover period, if they do switch to show sets. And if that is the case, I do think it less likely that we will see the Bloody Baron this year @Kaijumeister. As @Accio Lego says, we have already had The Grey Lady this year, so even if the next expansion doesn't include Myrtle we've had our house ghost for the year going on the trend of the past two. That being said, Lego does like to switch things up! Regardless, you would think he has to appear in this castle iteration as they would surely know leaving one of the house ghosts out would disappoint a lot of people as @Gorilla94 said. I hope we get another Voldemort at some point too with a printed skirt and the dark green robes. The battle wear version in the Battle of Hogwarts is great, but the one in Malfoy Manor is obviously designed for play and he just needs a skirt for me, he is too swishy and floaty. Being cheeky, I would also love a Battle of Hogwarts Narcissa and Malfoy as Malfoy Manor figures also just aren't doing it for me. Something about the printing feels plain and chunky, like the printing on Bellatrix's corset being defined by negative space. I would love to see Narcissa in her outfit like the one from the old Forbidden Forest set. Edited January 6 by BacktoBricks Quote

This is my only hope we get 3.5 years of modular castle sets. The show doesn't seem to be rumored for early 2027 and even if Lego delays the Winter wave back to March does Warner Brothers want sets on shelves before episodes release. Lego has well covered PS sets in the movie style the last 3 years, so they could lean into a 4-7 themed castle set so not to conflict with summer series sets. Unfortunately I just think them throwing Ravenclaw in the Hospital Wing versus the Astronomy Tower shows this wave is ending in 2026. Quote

Yeah, Narcissa with regular legs just looks dumb. I get they did it so she can sit down at the table, but other sets before have included both skirts and legs for that very reason And while they‘re at it, they could also use a different hairpiece for her. How about Glinda‘s, which they‘ve also just recoloured for the Grey Lady? Oh, and a new faceprint. And they should finally use the Hidden Side smoke piece to depict flying Death Eaters. That piece almost looks like it was designed for that exact purpose! If it‘s still around, that is, as it was last used in Dreamzzz sets two years ago. Quote
akaseim Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) Happy new year everybody!! After a loooot of months waiting, we have finally opened our Howgarts sets on Christmas morning... The problem with keeping the haul for so many month is that you forgot how many sets (and money) you have... 11 sets!! :-O It was so fun building them, and they look gorgeous. We got the Great Hall, the Boathouse, Potions and Charms, the Dueling club, the Greenhouse, the Owlery, Hagrid's hut and two Fords (one for each kid) And because here in Spain we have gifts also this morning (our Reyes Magos :-D) we got also two sidecars with Hagrid and Harry and the Sorting hat ceremony from the new wave. Of course, as soon as my kids built everything they started looking for new sets to add to the Castle :-D We obviosly missed the Main Tower because we have to eat too :-D but I have checked the retiring date and I think I can manage to get it for next Christmas (today is not to soon to start with Christmas wishes, right?) along with the new sets.... But my little one has fall in love with The Burrow (she doesn't understand we don't eat lego pieces...), so let me ask you if there is a good moment to buy it. I missed the Room of Requirements gift and I'm not sure if there will be any other set gifted before September. I guess the collectors sets don't lower their price... On the other side, any chance of getting this year a Howgart set with Luna minifig? I thought she was the minifig on the Hospital Wing but she is not, and she's my daughter favorite character. We hope for the Astronomy tower this year :-) and we really would like the Whomping Willow, any chance? I personally want a Sirius minifig and a set of the Room Requirements from the Dumbledore's Army...., but not sure if we can reach that book/movie if this is the last year of tha Castle, we hope is not. I can see sets for two more years :-D Edited January 6 by akaseim Quote

This one https://www.amazon.com/Activity-Lovegood-minifigure-Thestral-mini-build/dp/1837250812 has Luna and a buildable Thestral. It's from last year but the German version only comes out in January 2026, I don't know about your country's unfortunately. This one's from 2023 but still available from bookstores in my country: https://www.amazon.de/Lego-Harry-Potter-Minifigures-Accessories/dp/0794450822 It has three minifigs including Luna. She's obviously in the Lovegood House as well but I don't know of any Hogwarts sets she's in. We might be able to guess more once the set names drop. (Plus Luna's a popular character, one of few females, AND one of few Ravenclaws, so there's always a chance they'll just stick her into any random set regardless of whether it makes storytelling sense.) 1 hour ago, akaseim said: We hope for the Astronomy tower this year :-) and we really would like the Whomping Willow, any chance? I'm sure we'll get a Whomping Willow sometime soon, the last one was with the Shrieking Shack that's already gone from shelves. I also think the chances for Sirius are pretty high; Sirius Black's Escape was a part of the last modular Hogwarts so we might get it here, plus with all the anniversary patroni it would be weird if Harry's stag were the one we didn't get, and the scene it appears in pretty much requires Sirius. But again we don't know for sure. I don't think we'll get the RoR from fifth year until this modular system ends. We already have one version of the RoR for this modular system, I doubt we'll get another. Though you could cross two items (Luna and RoR) of your list by simply buying a copy of 75966 second-hand. ;-) Edited January 6 by brickbride Quote

There were Ravenclaw dorms in the previous Astronomy Tower set, but canonically, Ravenclaw has its own tower just like Gryffindor. Lego just shoehorns both houses where they can fit them because doing a tower set just form them isn’t convenient for them. 34 minutes ago, Virginia_Bricks said: So far none of the patronuses have been in a scene where it makes plot sense. Counterpoint, Harry’s main character status means he and his Stag are the most marketable characters, and the ones more casual collectors might buy a small set just to get. Hence, golden Harry came in the smallest 20th anniversary set – which I could easily see happening again with the patronuses. Quote
brickbride Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) 1) I wasn't saying that Ravenclaw belongs to the Astronomy Tower canonically, I was saying that LEGO think it does. The 2018 castle had a Clock Tower with the Hospital Wing and DADA, and we got the same combination here (though DADA's now inexplicably in the dungeons) minus the clock. They also had an Astronomy Tower with Ravenclaw. 2) That makes no real sense. Why would LEGO try harder to market small sets? I think Harry was in the Polyjuice Potions Mistake precisely because he's not a figure many people want. Snape was in the Chess Set and Voldemort with robes was in the flagship set (Chamber of Secrets), and those are much more sought after (check the prices even now!). In the case of the patroni, there's an additional size difference; obviously the stag would be much more expensive to produce based on material costs alone, so putting it into a small set makes no sense. If they wanted to do that we would have gotten it with the motorcycle chase but instead they went out of their way to not declare that one to be an anniversary set so they would not have to include anything. I think it's pretty clear by now that either the stag will be its own set (which would make the most sense, as all the patronus collectors would then be forced to buy it, plus LEGO loves remaking sets and even has a current Dementor mould it could use) or it will be included in a really expensive set. The original Clocktower set had the Hospital Wing, Moody’s DADA classroom, Dumbledore’s Office, the Prefect’s Bathroom, and the Great Hall dance floor in it because it was the only planned interior GoF set at the time and those are practically all the rooms crucial to the GoF movie. This year’s Hospital Wing set features Lupin’s DADA classroom because they needed to feature him and his anniversary patronus somewhere (and there are very few other set possibilities that could feature him), and the Ravenclaw common room – quite likely thrown in as this year’s requisite house common room since odds are on the Chamber of Secrets being the summer flagship set. Similarly, the 2020 Astronomy Tower set threw the Ravenclaw forms in there because they needed something as filler for the middle floor and they had Luna in her party dress to occupy it (the Gryffindor dorms had already been done in that system). There’s plenty of other rooms that could be done in that middle space if Lego decides to tackle the Astronomy Tower – something happening once in the past does not a pattern or hard rule make. 2) Harry is an extremely popular and desirable character – particularly with children just getting into the fandom. Hence, the golden anniversary Harry comes in the cheapest and most child affordable set, and nearly every Harry Potter polybag over the years features Harry himself. Little kids who love how Harry saved himself and his godfather with his stag patronus will happily buy a set with his stag if it’s in their budget, and won’t have been old enough to already have the original version (introduced in the smallest set of its wave, incidentally), making it all the more desirable to them. Meanwhile, adult collectors are more likely to actually like Snape (or at least be completionists) and want the anniversary sets featuring him – hence golden Snape featured in the less kid friendly buildable chessboard and his Doe Patronus will likely feature in one of the more expensive sets this summer. Yes, I've said it myself that making the stag patronus its own small set would make a lot of sense. You don't need to convince me of that. :-) What I can't see is LEGO putting the stag into a small set as a collectible extra (just like the golden Harry the last time around). Again if they wanted to do that, the motorcycle chase would have been the perfect set for it, yet that one comes without a patronus. Quote
