Jobo Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Sorry if this has already been asked. I saw that rollercoasters are not allowed, but how about haunted houses? As in, a tracked ride slowly going through a house with mechanical jump scares. Like a dark ride. Quote

aeh5040 Posted February 12 Posted February 12 This has been a really fun one for me. I hope there will be more contest themes like this. Quote

My entry is still well in progress but I really hope to get it into at least mostly functional and presentable form, though the time is running short... Quote
howitzer Posted March 2 Posted March 2 So when's the contest going to close @Jim ? I'd love to have a month or even a week more of building time to polish my entry but we're already way over the original closing date so... Quote
Jim Posted March 2 Author Posted March 2 Yeah sorry. There was one entry with an invalid post. I sent a PM. Will check and close tomorrow. Quote

howitzer Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I cast my vote but it was reallly hard thing to do, considering the huge differences between the various entries, all of them so unique and wonderful. I'd have hoped more entries but on the other hand, having even more of them would've made voting even more difficult. Quote
2GodBDGlory Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I'd agree, the very wide variance in topic for the different models did make it challenging to vote, but the contest definitely produced a lot of super interesting models! Quote
Davidz90 Posted March 9 Posted March 9 True, there are a lot of fantastic, unique entries. How I wish there were more official Technic sets like that instead of just car after car with some construction equipment in between... Anyway, deciding on the vote was definitely a challenge. I had a lot of fun with this contest. Quote

Too bad you didn't finish your entry, it would've been really interesting to do a comparison! Quote

Yeah, it would have been interesting to compare! In the end I decided to stop building it, mainly because I was deep in another project that I was more motivated to finish. I almost didn't start anything for the contest, and even after starting it I wasn't too motivated to continue. In all honesty, your super impressive model was kind of the push that got me to stop work on it, since yours is just so cool and ambitious I didn't think I could compete! I did build a gearbox for it that I never ended up posting, and it is still sitting on my desk, so maybe once I get a few other projects knocked off I'll see where my motivation is at for finishing it! I had a lot of fun with this contest. I couldn't agree more! These are the sort of creations that keep me coming back to Lego. I had some hopes that the Orrery set signalled a possible move by TLG in this direction, but given how often I see it reduced I suspect it is not selling very well. Edited March 14 by aeh5040 Quote
