You can use bricks and plates

OK thanks, but I like a challenge, so I'll have a go at using beams and connectors.  That will be more in keeping with the machine.

I am in awe of all MOCers

Are there any admins that can remove this circled picture?  I've tried many times, it just won't go away.

Sorry if this has already been asked. I saw that rollercoasters are not allowed, but how about haunted houses? As in, a tracked ride slowly going through a house with mechanical jump scares. Like a dark ride.

And how is that different from a rollercoaster?

I think we agreed on "no fairground or theme park rides".

This has been a really fun one for me. I hope there will be more contest themes like this.

Same here. My entry is still well in progress but I really hope to get it into at least mostly functional and presentable form, though the time is running short...

So when's the contest going to close @Jim ?

I'd love to have a month or even a week more of building time to polish my entry but we're already way over the original closing date so...

Yeah sorry. There was one entry with an invalid post. I sent a PM.

Will check and close tomorrow.

I was just about to make my post to the entry topic and it's locked :(

I will unlock it. Consider yourself lucky.

I do! Thank you so much, the entry post is now there!

I cast my vote but it was reallly hard thing to do, considering the huge differences between the various entries, all of them so unique and wonderful. I'd have hoped more entries but on the other hand, having even more of them would've made voting even more difficult.

I'd agree, the very wide variance in topic for the different models did make it challenging to vote, but the contest definitely produced a lot of super interesting models!

True, there are a lot of fantastic, unique entries. How I wish there were more official Technic sets like that instead of just car after car with some construction equipment in between... Anyway, deciding on the vote was definitely a challenge.

I had a lot of fun with this contest.

Too bad you didn't finish your entry, it would've been really interesting to do a comparison!

Yeah, it would have been interesting to compare! In the end I decided to stop building it, mainly because I was deep in another project that I was more motivated to finish. I almost didn't start anything for the contest, and even after starting it I wasn't too motivated to continue. In all honesty, your super impressive model was kind of the push that got me to stop work on it, since yours is just so cool and ambitious I didn't think I could compete!  :classic:

I did build a gearbox for it that I never ended up posting, and it is still sitting on my desk, so maybe once I get a few other projects knocked off I'll see where my motivation is at for finishing it!

I couldn't agree more! These are the sort of creations that keep me coming back to Lego. I had some hopes that the Orrery set signalled a possible move by TLG in this direction, but given how often I see it reduced I suspect it is not selling very well.
