The Rancor Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Just as speculations start for new 2009 releases, it seems as if NOTHING is coming out this fall/Autumn still in 2008! I know that the Castle Chess set and Death Star playset will be released in September, but I haven't heard of anything else... It may seem a silly question, but does anyone think there will be more to come for 2008? Quote
The Rancor Posted August 1, 2008 Author Posted August 1, 2008 10189 Taj Mahal is still to come Nice (I bet it's insanely expensive though) Quote

Cardinal Brick Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 10189 Taj Mahal is still to come We haven't even see an image of that yet though have we? Quote
meschepers Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Don't forget about the lovely Castle Advent Calender and the City Advent Calender, both due out in September. I am probably going to get a couple of the Castle Calenders... they look super. Quote
Mirandir Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) We haven't even see an image of that yet though have we? Nope. There hasn't been a single picture of it even though it feels like ages since it's existence were revealed... And there's also those two new calendars, small creator sets (7796, 7797, 7798 & 7799) and a few other small sets I havent seen yet. Don't know if they are promos/exclusives though. But besides Taj Mahal I don't think that there are any more larger sets to come this year. But I guess it isn't long before we'll have a "pictures-of-Januari-2009-releases-frenzy". Legoman Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Didn't we hear about a new Star Wars UCS set faintly in an interview? Quote
JimBee Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 There's also the Star Wars Droid Gunship and TX-130S Fighter Tanks set to be release (in U.S) in October. Quote
The Brick Rat Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 For several years now, during the Fall, Target has carried 4 sets that are labeled Limited Edition or Special Edition. They retail for $49.99 USD. Last year the sets were Dwarves Mine, the TIE Crawler, a Technic car and (IIRC) an Exo-Force set. I'm guessing that one of the sets this year will be the Agents Submarine set. They usually have a Technic car and another Star Wars set would probably be a good bet. For the fourth set I'd love to see a preview of a 2009 Castle Elves set like they did with Dwarves Mine last year. Quote
WisrthanU Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 What about the Adam Tucker Architecture models? I think the space needle and Empire State building are still to come. Quote

That Dwarves set was a huge hit (and the dwarves still are...) and [allegedly] an Elves set would prob shock lots of folks into action (buying) outside of the Lego Community as well. Member ReZourceman already has the Agents Sub, but I don't know where he got it... Quote

I am probably going to get a couple of the Castle Calenders... they look super. They look better than super, they look super awesome. Just think about it, we have a soldier from every faction of new Castle, two from the skellie faction, a jester, a civilian woman, and a witch. And I'm hoping that we get a horse and a skellie horse inside. And we still haven't gotten that Vastas wind tower yet...or is it 2009? Quote
legomilk Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 I still hope that harry potter lego sets out to bring but unfortunately I've heard nothing more about so then they can not. Quote

Member ReZourceman already has the Agents Sub, but I don't know where he got it... Yeah, I'd like to know where ReZourceman got the Deep Sea Quest set (he didn't pay USD so it wasn't in the U.S.) There still aren't any for sale on Bricklink and no inventories, so I'm guessing he got lucky with a store selling it early. Elsewhere on Eurobricks, I've read that the Volcano Base is a TRU exclusive and Deep Sea Quest is a Target exclusive, so I'm betting that when DSQ shows up here in the U.S. it will be as one of the four Target Fall exculsives (although I could be wrong). Mirandir Posted August 2, 2008 Posted August 2, 2008 And we still haven't gotten that Vastas wind tower yet...or is it 2009? I thought it was more or less confirmed that the Vestas Power plant isn't going to be sold publically at all. Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 4999 CG Platform is already available on S@H - and for Germany it'll be sold as a Vedes exclusive set around Christmas. As for the other sets: I thought that there will be some more Impulse sets for City and Castle (we already saw the pics). I thought it was more or less confirmed that the Vestas Power plant isn't going to be sold publically at all. I regrettably fear that, too. But let's hope that TLG and Vestas have a heart of gold for us and let us buy this set! BTW: Someone is already selling this awesome set on Ebay.de. But it's already now more than 200 Euros - so for me regrettably no chance to get it . Klaus-Dieter Quote

The Brick Rat Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 Hasn't one of the Target Fall Exclusives usually been a castle set? I'm pretty sure that last year's Dwarve's Mine was the first time a Castle set has been part of the Target fall exclusive line. I also found this on Brickset (which is where I presume darthperson's info came from): Anyone worried about the fact that 7679 Republic Fighter Tank is currently unavailable in the U.S., rest assured, you will be able to complete your Clone Wars collection, just not anytime soon. Apparently, in tandem with a LEGO S@H release, it will be a Target exclusive later in the year (usually October), along with Agents 8636 Mission 7: Deep Sea Quest, and BIONICLE 8942 Jetrax T6, in a special supercharged yellow version. More than likely, City 4210 Coast Guard Platform will be released via this outlet in the U.S. as well, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. Of course, if you are a U.K. consumer, all of these sets are already available to you, barring the yellow 8942. As far as other sets to come out in 2008 these three are still outstanding (at least in the U.S.): 6117: Windows and Doors pack 6118: Wheels and Tires pack 6119: Roof elements pack Quote
The Rancor Posted August 4, 2008 Author Posted August 4, 2008 It doesn't seem like there will be any extentions to themes at all during the Autumn for the UK, judging by the replies I hope there is something that we missed which would be released in Septemeber/October! Quote
Mr.Brick Posted August 5, 2008 Posted August 5, 2008 (edited) I still hope on some Harry Potter LEGO. It was going great 'till movie 4. :'( Well, hopefully they'll at least make one symbolic set, to keep the line going Edited August 5, 2008 by Mr.Brick Quote
