The largest set is Bowser’s Castle from Super Mario Bros Wonder! Awesome to see them tackle that game! :excited:

That brickbuilt Wario is killing me :laugh_hard: Having yet another Mario starter set is weird, especially since it comes with the same standard kart as in the January sets  And that set based on Captain Toad is cute!

We've just started playing Wonder, so I was tickled to see this.

Wario looks pretty terrific.

In fact I think I like all of the sets from this wave.

I love the Wario build. I really would like them to make brickbuilt versions of Mario, Luigi and Peach (I hate the digifigs).

Completely agree, given what they've done with Wario.

I have to say, between the Mario Kart D2C, the SMBW Bowser Castle, the Wario fig, the general variety of the 2HY wave, and possibly the Game Boy, 2025 is a strong contender for the best year the theme has had so far!

WOW!!

I am blown away by this wave. I have been BEGGING them to make a Toad house that's at least *kind* of 3D so we could make our own and make little shops, etc. Soooo happy! The little picture of Peach's castle above Toad's bed is adorable too.

Castle Bowser is amazing. Captain Toad is adorable. Great job on this wave!! :)

I'm looking at that Bowser Castle set and wondering how there are over 1000 parts in it.

Sorry for the double post :) But this image gives a closer look at some play features that might explain it!!

I meant the one with Bowser and Yoshi in it. Not the Wonder Castle

I can see how that would be a lot of parts—the castle build has a lot of small detail pieces like spikes, and there's two decent-sized karts one of which is driven by a large character.

Wow I love the Wario. Might just have to get that one for my little LEGO Mario collection, and since I don't already have any Boo, it's a win win.

A new GWP set has leaked, namely the bane of every Mario Kart fan’s existence, a spiny shell! :snicker:

Aw, very cool! Though it makes me realize we still don't have one in scale with the other playsets... I kinda expected a mold of that to show up with the summer sets, but I guess not.

Oh, I totally agree with you on that one, then LOL.

Technically you could make one with Ludwig's shell!

I'm still soooooo hyped about Party at Toad's house! I know it's one of the more underwhelming sets for most, but I've been waiting for a Toad house that you can put furniture in and actually make a home or shop or whatever!

I was thinking more in terms of one that could be launched from the launchers like the smaller shells in the other Mario Kart sets. That'd need a new mold but I think it'd be worth it for one of the most iconic Mario Kart items.

I’ve seen in Ashnflashs video and apparently we are getting two more Mario sets, wether or not it’s true is another thing to be seen,

so 72044 and 72045 are missing,

They’re both listed on brickmerge (including prices and piece counts), so they should still be coming, unless they happen to be cancelled

It’ll be interesting what they’ll be

I do think it's a little bit of a shame that the Mario Kart starter pack is just him with the standard kart that already came in another set. I suppose it's good in the sense that I don't need another starter pack so it's good that there's nothing I miss out on by skipping it, but it also makes me feel like it would've been cool if one of the sets had been Luigi's standard kart or something like that instead.

Are they not just the Gameboy and the buildable Mario + Kart?

Nope, the MK D2C is 72037 and the Gameboy is 72046. Also, the two unknown sets are 20€ and 50€ respectively ^^

I'm not too sure how I feel about Yoshi popping up again in the Bowser Mario Kart set. I know he has multiple colour choices in the game, but maybe we could have gotten Birdo, a Koopa Troopa, or hell, give us Bowser Jr in a MK set so he's not limited to the "standard" line of sets.

Otherwise, I love the Wario and King Boo set! So glad we're getting them, and I'm actually happy with a Brick Built Wario if it means we don't have the horrible Price to Piece ratio of the digital sets.

Birdo or Koopa Troopa would work great (as would several other characters who are yet to appear in Mario Kart sets like Toadette or Dry Bones) but a character like Bowser Jr. could maybe be a bit of a challenge due to his three-stud-wide footprint not adapting as effortlessly to the four-stud-wide connection points necessary for the karts to be compatible with digi-figs. That's an issue that affects several other characters as well, like Shy Guy, Diddy Kong, or a few of the Koopalings.

I expect Yoshi was chosen for the Bowser's Castle set in part to have a clear "good guy" character to challenge Bowser himself on his "home turf".

Got Mario Kart World recently and have been thinking about what sorts of subjects from the new game could make good sets in the future. The open-world nature of the game means there's a lot of potential, since not only are there plenty of potential karts and drivers but also lots of NPC vehicles and structures that could be interacted with in neat ways and would work great either as the main subject of a set or as a side build of sorts.

One of the things that seems like it'd make a great set would be the "Yoshi's" food truck. It could come with a uniformed Toad to staff it (either to drive or sell food at the window) and digi-figs could work with it either as a driver or by scanning the "dash food" item for a pick-me-up. The very bubbly, blocky design of the truck seems like it'd be easy to build recognizably in Lego, and very cute as a set!

That would make a good set, another set I’d like to see is a the semi truck

Last two Mario Kart sets of the year were revealed.

Character-wise they’re nothing special, at least for people who’ve been collecting a while (though I think it’s been a little while since Toadette was available). But I love the kart selection—the Cat Cruiser and Tanooki Kart were near the top of my wishlist for future karts, and the P-Wing (complete with brick-built glider) is great as well.
