Brickshelf album (do people still use Brickshelf?) https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=183418

The RDT is made mostly from the Clone Turbo Tank set way back in the day. I forgot why I did that, but I think it turned out decently.

I've recently gotten back into Lego, and want to remake it. How would you improve my 2006 (!) creation? I actually like the boxy look, but the bottom definitely needs an overhaul. Especially to make it more obvious that it's a ship, and not a speeder or whatever.

I would advise including seating along the walls of the troop bay for troops to sit in. Maybe a rifle rack and a small comm terminal as well. Overall maybe add some smooth tiles to the exterior to give it a more polished look.

The original looks great though.

Thanks! Yeah the interior is quite barren. That will definitely change in v. 2.0!

the shape fits in star wars nicely, i could accept it as a prototype or 1st gen marauder ground troop carrier. I agree to work out the interior, then i'd say tile it up on the outside, and add some textures rods, grills all kinds of minifig utensily, modified bricks etc, but keep the main shape - except for maybe make it bigger for a buffed interior :)

also the color-scheme is a bit confusing, but cant explain how, i would go either imperial scheme (light-dark bluish grey and black) or since its republic white dark red or lightbluish gray dark red

Oh yeah it definitely resembles the Marauder. I never realized that I should upscale it, but like you said it'll be necessary if I want there to be an actual interior. I think that's the most needed suggestion I've received!
