Salix Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 (edited) Not sure where the Mirror Erised conjecture is coming from. The Polish site said: Quote 76435 Wielka sala w Hogwarcie – 1732 części za 949,99 zł. Nowa wersja Wielkiej sali, będąca centralną częścią najnowszego Hogwartu. W komplecie latające świecie, iluzja nieba, dziedziniec, lochy z sekretnym przejściem oraz pokoje: łazienka, korytarz i pokój Hufflepuff. Te pokoje będzie można „wysunąć” z modelu. Do tego aż 11 minifigurek: Harry, Hermiona, Ron, Albus Dumbledore, 3 uczniów, duch, troll jaskiniowy (nowy odlew w wersji bigfigowej!), profesor Quirrel i (prawdopodobnie) Aurora Sinistra. Wielką Salę połączymy z Domem na wodzie (76426 – premiera marca). Which (translated by me) translates to: Quote 76435 Hogwarts Great Hall - 1732 pieces for 949,99 złoty. The new version of the Great Hall will be the centre piece of the newest Hogwarts. It will consist of floating candles, a sky illusion, courtyard, dungeon with a secret passage as well as rooms: bathroom, hallway, and the Hufflepuff room. It will be possible to "slide out" the rooms from the model. Additionally there will be even 11 minifigures: Harry, Hermione, Ron, Albus Dumbledore, 3 students, a ghost, cave troll (new bigfig mould!), professor Quirrel and (apparently) Aurora Sinistra. The Great Hall can be connected to the Boat House (76426 - March release). Did Brick Clicker say something about the Mirror of Erised? Edited March 14, 2024 by Salix

"Niebo" (or the grammatical version "nieba" in this particulair instance) can mean both. Didn't know German did that too. I guess in certain contexts you could use the word "hemel" (which is Dutch for heaven) to also mean sky, but normally you would use "lucht". Edited March 14, 2024 by Salix
Jaromir Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Yes, word "niebo" in Polish, means sky and heaven, it depends from the context.

They still produce fluffy/furry ones like that from time to time (e.g. the Range Troopers from Solo), but rather infrequently, so it‘s gonna be interesting to see what direction they‘ll take! Also, as far as I know, the old troll was the last doll-like figure like that. My guess is they’ll do a print instead I expect the detail will be moulded/painted on like Cull Obsidian and Gladiator Hulk, if they reuse the hulk arms I hope they don’t look too muscular, the troll has lanky arms and narrow shoulders and instead most of its mass is in its belly and huge knobbly feet Edited March 16, 2024 by Bugbot20082
Huigberts Builds Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 I'm a bit confused, I get that niebo/nieba can technically mean both sky and heaven, but what has that to do with the Mirror of Erised? Yeah okay if you think very deeply about it maybe, but that's reaching a bit. I feel like "Illusion of Heaven" is very farfetched and way too cryptic as a way for someone to describe the mirror on a site like that, even if the author didn't know about it (or rather especially if they didn’t know about the mirror). They would probably just describe it as a mirror at best or a painting at worst. If not just name the thing by its actual Polish name "Zwierciadło Ain Eingarp" (if I'm not mistaken). Not to mention it's listed right after the floating candles. It makes more sense to name it as part of the different rooms if it were the mirror. In my eyes this could only be interpreted as the enchanted ceiling.
Darth Shadowthrone Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Wouldn’t the cave troll make more sense as a hybrid minifigure like Dr Eggman? I could see it using the Avatar legs, Hagrid arms and a specialist torso-head piece

Plus, it’s a mountain troll! The cave troll is from another franchise

And the comically large ears are such an important part of the design they probably shouldn‘t be left out… Maybe all-new parts for everything would be the best solution

Jaromir Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Well, Lego had released many big figs over the years, with different size and shape. I don't believe the troll will look like a hulk.
TeriXeri Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 (edited) Instead of a bigfig design, LEGO could opt for something like long legs from Avatar, with some custom torso (like Hagrid but not as long) , current Hagrid arms are probably a bit too short still tho. Edited March 21, 2024 by TeriXeri

The extra long minifig legs would be too slender in my opinion. If you look at the troll from the movie it’s rather bottom heavy in both its torso and limbs. It really needs custom molds for all the parts to make them accurate.

Isn‘t the troll like a full meter taller than Hagrid though? I can’t imagine a combination of the long legs with a special torso and long arms looking any good I‘m with @Accio Lego, he requires all-new parts to look accurate
TheInvisibleMan Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but the new D&D set includes a bar/pub. Surely this means that there would be no issues with giving us the Leaky Cauldron now!
Seaber Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 There have been plenty of lego pubs or inns before, as well as a leaky Cauldron sign so I think it's very much in contention.

Surely this means that there would be no issues with giving us the Leaky Cauldron now! I mean, we’ve already got the Three Broomsticks, and the 2021 and 2023 advent calendars had explicit builds for the Leaky Cauldron and Hog’s Head respectively. I don’t think there’s a content issue stopping us from getting a Leaky Cauldron - it’s probably more along the line of it simply being awkward to figure out the design of something that has a normal front and the magical portal at the back - especially since all our previous Diagon Alley buildings have left the back completely open for playability. With any luck, now that we’re on year two of getting a set of Diagon shops in the summer wave, the trend will continue long enough for the designers to figure out how to do the Leaky Cauldron in a way appropriate for a retail set.
Felkin Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 The Leaky Cauldron is as much a hotel as it is a pub, as seen in the Prisoner of Azkaban. If Lego wanted to, they could focus on the inn side of the business, such as Harry's rented room (where he gets attacked by the Monster Book of Monsters in the movie) and the parlour room (where Harry meets Cornelius Fudge and the hunchbacked Tom). Add the magical brick wall entrance to Diagon Alley, and you've got yourself an accurate HP set without any unwelcome alcohol references. Given that we've already had the Three Broomsticks pub, I have to imagine that Lego are saving the Leaky Cauldron for a future D2C, rather than being unwilling to make it at all.

I don’t think the Leaky Cauldron has enough oomph for a D2C on its own. I think it’s more likely that if the WWW and Ollivander’s + Madam Malkin’s sell well, then we’ll eventually see the Leaky Cauldron in that style - which is a little more flexible in the floor plan than the original D2C style. Maybe in the future we’ll see Flourish & Blott’s + Borgin & Burke’s and Leaky Cauldron + Fortescue’s sets.
BrickBob Studpants Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 Three animals pieces from the upcoming City sets leaked yesterday, so there‘s a fair chance we might get to see some troll parts soon! Fingers crossed!
Jaromir Posted March 22, 2024 Posted March 22, 2024 What was the date of official reveal date for past years for Lego Harry Potter summer wave? Winter wave was officially revealed quite early.

The 2023 sets were revealed May 1st, the 2021 range April 15th, the 2020 sets April 28th, and the 2019 ones on April 25th. Edited March 22, 2024 by BrickBob Studpants
