vaoinas Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Hi! Here are my modest modifications on my Eldorado Fortress. - Changed the lower part of the front gun corner from white to yellow. - Changed most of the torsos and heads to the classic ones. - Changed the palm tree trunks to the classic ones. - The coins and gold bars are all replaced with the chrome gold ones. - Classic monkey and parrot are added to the scene. I also didn't like the recessed aft of the ship very much and modified this as well. Cheers! Kristjan Quote

Beautiful! This is how the set should've been from the beginning. Your small changes made the set look so much better. Quote

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I completely disagree :D But that's the power of Lego, you can modify it to your liking. 2 hours ago, vaoinas said: I love the cargo there, classic colonizers :D Could you share a photo of that figure head! It has never crossed my mind to make it in tan, but it looks awesome! Quote

The figure head came pre-assembled as an extra with one of the Bricklink orders. (Sorry, no pic at the moment) Quote

eldiano Posted April 22 Posted April 22 (edited) Pick a Brick took forever to deliver my bricks but it’s funny because I know I ordered a bunch of white and yellow bricks from this set, but I have no idea what I was trying to do, now I’m stuck on trying to figure out my original plan for this I think! Aye, the same thing has happened to me too. It seems as if ye were planning to create another building with a roof. Either way, ye could make the defense walls taller for a better look. Quote

I did get carried away, I like to keep my MODS as close to the original bricks used in the set as possible and overdid it with the white bricks! I was aiming to do the best possible with the governors office but it’s kind of a funny angle I have to get used to. I was inspired by extending as someone posted here, but I wanted to extended them an extra brick’s height, that was the easy part, I was stumped in the back of the office, but you are right I could make the walls taller! I regret not getting a second set, now I’m stuck PaB the missing grey and black bricks for enhancing them a bit! It’s never a dull day to be honest, check this out: Can you spot the changes? The governor needs to see better! He’s happy the feather fits inside the room: Side window that when combined with the opened set, he can “walk over” the other balcony: I have extra bricks to extend the first floor’s design, but it still feels off I think! I love what you've done with the place! On a side note, we need to talk about that Jim Beam in the background. If I may recommend any of Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Breckenridge, or Legent I think your Bourbon experience will be much better! Quote
