Professor Thaum Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Finishing the crossing between Tortuga and Jameston, here is the Spitting Snake of Pontelli, designed by the young Iauln, on her maiden trip. The ship is a gift from the doctor, for the now "captain princess Sara" . You may see her at the downwind rail with Mr Church, the first officer (and de facto real captain of the Snake of Pontelli). Lucy, the sister of the princess is aboard too, with the well-known Professor Koko always providing some foreign language training to the crew... Pr Koko : Dale un besooooo a Kokooooo ! The brand new figure head of the ship : The Doctor Thaum and the young Iauln are also aboard, here at the stern. And of course, the ship has a first-hand crew from the same navy school than the Jolly Rogers crew. Â After some exchanged greetings with the crowd of the Port of Jameston, the Snake then rounded the cap protecting the harbour, and suddenly hoisted the black... ... and a huge foresail, almost one acre... ... sheeted on a pole mast... ... then luffed to give immediate chase to the WTC Stoned Serpent, which was making some adjustement on Jameston's shoal. Impossible for the old tub to compete in speed with the schooner, the Snake closed to the Serpent and deliver many carronades shots on the target's deck, defiling the sails in bloodred stain. Then the Snake of Pontelli continue her journey far east, leaving the crippled Serpent behind. *** Â The Stone Serpent reached the harbour. It seems that the ship suffered a full broadside of tomatoes as no damage were reported except for many red splashes on the whole ship. C&C welcome as usual. If you have questions or need extra shots, feel free to ask. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Beautiful little schooner! I love it. I really like the rigging, and the use of the handhold strings. Very good! Quote
NOD Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 This is a very beautiful and fast gaff-rigged schooner!  I like the custom hull and the rigging and sails are very well done. The swivel guns look realistic. The crew looks sympathetic and funny. Quote
Yperio_Bricks Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 With the huge sail it looks like the fastest ship out there. And its beautiful too! Quote
Justsomebrix Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Beautiful ship, the first image looks great! Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Excellent ship. Wow! But the foresail...  Quote

You may also have noticed that the big foresail sports the WTC flag overlapped by a snake around a soccer ball, to commemorate the architect of Young Boys Pontelli's victory at the last soccer tournament. Kai NRG Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 I really like the color choice for the sails, great little ship! Quote

Fraunces Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Just seeing this now, and I second all the good words the other brethren have said! Quote
Krol Zmija Sebastian Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 I read some "Schooner"about, but to me I'm reminded of the Sloop type of Ships. I like the coloring, and the rope setups. And, of course, the Snake. Â Quote
Bodi Posted April 7, 2023 Posted April 7, 2023 Nice schooner, Thaum, the sails and rigging look good. Quote
