I have a question concerning slope 33 3 x 4 Part-ID 3297:

Until now, all slopes of this type in my part collection had a pretty rough texture on the inclined side. Recently I ordered some black slopes of this type on Bricklink. And they are different: They have a pretty smooth texture on the inclined side.

Are there different molds with different textures? Are the rough ones older parts and the smooth ones newer ones? Any ideas or information?

Thanks a lot in advance!

I believe it could indicate that this piece has had its texture changed as time has passed by. Can't recall which variant is older and which newer but if I had to guess, rough texture might be older. Other slope pieces have this type situation too, have noticed it last few years. However, there could be a different explanation to this, so, who knows? :pir-grin:

I'm fairly confident the smooth slopes were created around the time LEGO nearly went bust. (so sometime around 2003) They didn't last long, and, for some reason, were replaced with the tried and true original slope they were intended to supplant.
