Diamabolo Posted July 8, 2022 Posted July 8, 2022 After some attempts to use the panel fairings as a propeller blade or pinwheel, i like this variant best. Quote
Davidz90 Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Amazing! Seems to work very well! I bet that it could be attached to electric motor and produce a measurable voltage. These panels are a reasonable approximation of turbine blades, although figuring out the optimal angle of attack for the blades is not trivial. The yellow one is also interesting, looks like the front of a turbofan engine. Some time ago I also experimented with using panels for wind turbine, but a vertical one. It has advantage of working regardless of the wind direction, but it was much less powerful than this one - I had to use magnets for suspension because axles had too much friction. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 Three of my favorite things.... 1) no cars, cranes or boats! 2) Lots of axles and connectors! 3) Movement without engines! Brilliant! Quote
howitzer Posted July 9, 2022 Posted July 9, 2022 I wonder how much wind these would produce if used as a motorized fan... Quote
