the Inventor Posted April 24, 2022 Posted April 24, 2022 (edited) Marko is just about to try and return to the river to catch some more fish, while Sascha is drying the previous catch. A small furry friend is looking with anticipation waiting for Sascha to leave. -- Will probably be part of a larger layout together with https://flic.kr/p/2mMtevr -- It started out as a tryout to use a post-and-beam technique and evolved to this house. The stone base of the house is 10x10, with some jumper magic, the bottom of the house is 9x9, before expanding to the front to 10x9 studs for the floors above and the roof. hoppa Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Really cool, even looking at it for minutes I can't figure out how you did the angled beams, especially the top and bottom of the beam itself! Quote
Feuer Zug Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Great little house. Your technique for the half-timbered look is excellent. Quote
the Inventor Posted April 25, 2022 Author Posted April 25, 2022 @hoppa Thanks. See also the progress of the build: Ids on Twitter: "Trying out some timber framing (post-and-beam) with Lego. #LEGO #レゴ https://t.co/utpcgN0uPo" / Twitter And this picture: The top and bottom are cheese slopes, pushed in between those other cheese slopes. @Feuer Zug Thanks. Follows Closely Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 If the white could be recessed a half or quarter stud, that would perfect. Quote
the Inventor Posted April 25, 2022 Author Posted April 25, 2022 @Follows Closely I agree that it would be perfect then. Maybe that is possible but would require a more difficult construction, for example jumper plates do not exist in dark brown. The top beam would also have to be a plate higher to accompany the offset stud of the modified brick with stud on its side and the gap would have to be filled somehow, requiring some more brackets/tiles. LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Wow, incredible architecture! I like the windows and the half-timbered frame Quote
MontyMatte Posted July 3, 2022 Posted July 3, 2022 Cute house. Like it very much. The architecture is awesome :) Quote
