Summer suddenly ended, so had time for this MOC, and finished it. I think, there are all possible  grader functions.

Honestly, it could be official set. Perhaps you could cover holes in front half with 2 x 4 tiles (or it would not be sturdy enough and you'll keep losing parts)?

Great functions in a tight space. I especially like the drivetrain of the rear wheelpairs, which just has this classic technic wibe :-)

The only thing I think could be done better is the rear ripper, which just looks way to puny. I know, a grader is not a dozer, but still this thing should be bigger or the teeth should look more ... grindy :D

Overall great job!

Thank You all/both!

I wanted to keep it technic. Don't think, that I need some tiles there.

It was last thing to add, so ... but anyway, I did it classical way, as lego, most probably would do. For teeths I would then dig in sons Ninjago collection or something like that. I'll check what we have.

This looks pretty nice, and it's soo dense with functions using all those small LAs, great job! I like how it only has essential stuff in it, just the right size. Especially like the tilting of the front wheels, the steering shaft (though that chain touching the frame is a bit of a dirty hack for me). The rear drivetrain is also nice, I guess in such a manual model, even those 8T gear trains are okay. The only thing I'd change is that stair-like stack of beams on the side of the rear part under the bonnet, wouldn't some wing-shaped panel fit there nicely? It could make it look smoother.

Thnak You, I tried to replicate all functions. Pneumatics for this scale would look messy, I think. There would be some kind of "macaroni factory".

It is intentionally, as I needed to tension it. As it is not for drive, I think, it is OK.

I was thinking to implement chains as on real graders, but then everything becomes too wide for this scale.

I was considering those large panels, but they don't fit, or I would loose support for rear axle/suspension. I also don't have small yellow panels 2x5 (they are really rare).

Added one 3L beam to fill front

rear ripper

Made V2.0 , but not shure if really better. Some small firing panels could be too large.

This is a project I have often wanted to build, so it is great to see how you have done things. One of the problems I have is the whole Grader, because of all the functions, becomes an unwieldy mass or huge construct, so I inevitably build it in much larger scale than originally intended. I think yours is about perfect scale wise and maintains a look that is true to source material, good job, if anything I would have made the engine cover a little larger. I also like the features you have included, not an easy feat to pull off, as these machines are very complicated, I don't think most people understand just how important these machines are and just what they are capable of.

Thanks for building a rarity, I enjoyed it and will likely "borrow" some ideas.

Thank You for kind words! I started this, then inbetween happened TC22, and I made this (was a good preparation for this)

As I wrote, pneumatics at this scale woud be mess of tubes. Then I would also need to go for even bigger scale, which I'm also considering now (just don't have so much pneumatics now)

Need a full line of graders in each of sizes.
